Updated for the 2024 model year, the Honda Passport has a new Black Edition trim to top the list. But much of it feels a generation older than other Honda SUVs. The Passport still offers great ergonomics to haul plenty of cargo and generally fine driving behavior, too. The Question is how does it feel to drive compared to its newer siblings?
In this video, I take you through the car, show you what features are offered and how they work. And then I take you on a drive to get a sense of how well it handles, the quality of the ride, and the overall experience.

Thank you, Robin, for another excellent review. Your earlier walk-around of the Passport adds depth and breadth to the coverage, making it a comprehensive guide to the vehicle. My wife and I, both in our mid-50s, particularly appreciate the "old-school" layout of the Passport, which was a key factor in our decision to purchase this vehicle. In an era where distracted driving, such as texting while driving, is a major concern, we find it counterintuitive to see many manufacturers increasing vehicle settings via touchscreen, like the VW Atlas Cross Sport. Being able to adjust settings such as temperature using well-placed, familiar knobs or buttons not only makes it easy to use but, in our opinion, safer and far more functional. Touchscreens can be fickle to operate, causing drivers to take their eyes off the road, and the cost of a replacement screen, post-warranty, can be prohibitive. Additionally, the engine, albeit an old design, provides a level of reliability and predictability to ownership, giving us peace of mind in our purchase. Choosing to buy a 2024 model ahead of the much-anticipated redesign in 2025 was also a very intentional choice on our part. I appreciate your easy-going, candid approach, production quality, and the wealth of accurate information you provide in each video. Looking forward to seeing more!

Thank you so very much! And, yeah, I fully respect your preferences for the Passport layout. And, absolutely, the SOHC V-6 is thoroughly sorted and, I'm sure, reliable. Enjoy it!

I have a 2024 Blk Edition. Great car. Love the V6, Love the regular tranny not a CVT, love the simple tech. Love the TONS of room inside. If you want to tow, moving a kid into college, towing a ski doo, or motorcycle? Then you can use this vehicle. A 2.0 turbo will not tow those things. Good simple knobs, Heating and AC system is great. My two weens in the back don't complain at all. Reliable tranny and engine have been used for almost 2 decades in other Honda vehicles. 2.0 litre turbos are great but a solid normally aspirated V6 will surely outlast that engine technology.

Call it old school or tried, proven and capable - either way it will very likely perform better and offer much better reliability down the road.

I appreciate your direct comparison with the new Pilot. I was pretty much sold on the Passport, but now I may have to take a closer look at the Pilot since it offers those many advantages you mentioned. The Passport is quicker, but the Pilot may be a lot more refined, quieter, and potentially handles even better than the Passport. Only problem is the Pilot is $5-6k more expensive (for equivalent trims)

If it helps at all, here's my review of the Pilot: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WNu5m_wer4g.htmlsi=WkRdH4SJYGUvyNFt

And the new DOHC engine in the Pilot is unproven.

"Some other stuff down here"? Yeah, not even the Owners Manual says what those button do.

You didn't even mention VTEC? Something the Pilot doesn't have and will never have. You want refinement-get a Highlander, or even a Lexus,. That isn't what the Passport is about.
