The relentless speed limit and speed camera beeping is beyond annoying and some would argue more distracting and dangerous than not having it. I would not buy any new Hyundai & Kia solely because of it and the fact we’re not ‘allowed’ to disable it.

The beeping you can turn off in the screen and the sensor barely catches the other speed board limit only like the first one

Having owned the out going Sorento, (GT LINE 2.2 Diesel) and driven many klms throughout QLD, over various terrain, it really only had one flaw, the Transmission Tune. It looked at a hill and it would change down, 7th , 6th or 5th, the engine has plenty of Power (Torque) to hold 8th gear on these same hills, which one constantly had to manually shift back up to 8th, 8th also gave better fuel economy on the same hills. The Sorento needs a manual gear selection capability, so one can select manual override and it would not change down gears. Plus it probably the best value and spec'd at it's price point..

I have the 2023 and if you put it into sports and change gears with the paddles it would stick to manual until you change it.

@@ajsingh4498 - Hi, there was no sports mode on my August 2023 Built version Sorento GT LIne 2.2 Diesel, it had the ROUND gear selection knob like the Range Rover Evoque.. R - N - D & P.. Using the paddles to override it would change back to auto on average in about 5 seconds.. shame, as it has so much to offer..

That's interesting, I have the GT line it's AWD and it has drive mode selector which features sports, smart, eco, comfort, snow, mud and sand. Thought it was standard in all 23 models.

@@ajsingh4498 - sorry, your right, yes it did have the little round mode selector. I never noticed it "held" the selected gear when in Sports mode though, I cannot test it now I have sold it, bugger.... other than that it was a very good vehicle. Thanks for your info..

@gregjenkins2925 haha that sucks maybe take a 24 for a test drive and get the feel of the dct. I personally love the lightning fast gear changes. And the sports mode does show a difference performance and handling wise.

Mr Sauce, at least with the petrol you could rely on the transmission to actually function. Have a petrol of the just past model and it is brilliant. You can keep your diesel.

In the states, we can’t get the bench seat in the higher trims which kinda sucks so we’re limited to the lower trims if we want a bench. Jealous of the australian version

It's not bloody good, it's bloody great . The UVO Connect infotainment Is brilliant. Only question Is, if the new Santa Fe due here in a few wks doesn't have any diesel, how long will it be before the Sorento could lose its oiler??

Not having a diesel for the new SantaFe is a massive mistake!!… It’s surprising how many rural dwellers own diesel Sorento’s.

We need 18-in rims on all trims and the option of bench seats do not want captain chairs in the second row on the higher trims

Agreed, the packaging for this car in the states is so weird, we’re all but limited to the S trim if we want a bench seat so we miss out on basic features such as power liftgate

Is the transmission still the same? Mine is a 2020 diesel gt-line and have my transmission replaced by Kia already. Only 50k mileage.

not jusT Scorpio got FSD , Xuv700 also got one .. but more efficient than Scorpio , since Scorpio is double wishbone and its stiffer .. i really wish sorentto is available in india .. everything is perfect exterior , interior and features ... KIA rocks

To this car a Petrol V6 Turbo or 2.0 HEV would fit much better than Diesel. Both - pre-life and post-lift looks great, but I like the new more.

Now I’m really confused, current cars are Santa Fe, was about to go and order a new Santa Fe, not the new boxy one it’s got a CVT box don’t want that too many problems, but the outgoing model, I’m thinking am I supposed to be looking at Kia. I do 100,000 k’s a year is a travelling sales rep , which one do you think is the best for extreme long-distance country roads New Zealand?, We don’t have the big highway like Aussies do . I’m too uncomfortable easy , but never the Santa Fe

Revs on the right side of instruments is not good. It is good they still have the stalks in the correct spot but the speedo should be on the right side on right hand drive cars. When people say "you get used to it", I say you can used to jail too but I don't want to.

Honestly, in an instrument cluster (something you don’t touch)… you don’t even give a LHS Speedo a second thought after initially seeing it.

The climate controls are not old people friendly. They need a car to hop in, crank it to max and freeze and deafen their passengers.

For some reason Hyundai cars are literally so bad but only the best car of Hyundai is the 8 seater one I forgot the name but Hyundai makes Kia surprisingly good even though Hyundai owns Kia
