I’ve always had issues with washing/ conditioning my hair in twists. They would mat up so much making my detangling process so long! I recently switched to big braids (12-16) and it’s so much easier ❤🎉

You can get bit of both with choosing the best protective style: I. braid my roots first then I twist medium sized that way I prevent tangles from the roots and at the same time enjoy the versatility that comes with twists…😇

You can also start the twist with a braid and then twist it further to prevent your scalp from tangling quickly

, I'm so excited to actually start this challenge Journey I'm doing mine for like 4 months because I'm going to be graduating from college in May so I'm doing this challenge I just recently not too long ago blow out my hair and my hair got sicker and it got some inches so I'm going to continue with the indigenous strands protective style challenge I'm going to go between twists and braids with aloe vera juice and castor oil and Shea Butter mix that I made and I think it will improve I found a gel that I really jelly gel for my hair for the ends it really hard in my hair and thank you for this challenge because this is teaching me how to be more minimum products also use deep conditioner and shampoo I use my shampoo for my scalp and then I use another shampoo for moisture so and I also love your Channel is very educational and very detailed thank you so much❤

Thank you for sending me this link girl and responding to my reply on one of your other post.. All of what you are saying to me the HOly Spirit revealed to me.. you see I had locs for 15 years a monoth after taking out the locs I started doing extensions.. when I took it out I was like this is not going to help me with moisture and so I believe it was the Holy Spirit that revealed to me that braids are going to dry the hair out and you won’t be washing and moisturizing as often .. so I took the braids out and started doing exactly what you are doing now … thanks for this .. On another note I made my own flax seed gel and though it was good I have another say on that now .. but I use it as a pre poo with fenugreek… Thanks for this again

Im excited to start. I too have been braiding my hair with extentions for the past year keeping it in for about 6 to 8 weeks at a time, I never had a problem with dryness, I typically sprayed my hair every day for the first 2 weeks and once a week after that. I also use haitan blk caster oil atleast once a week until takedown. But im done with the extentions for now, my hair grew so much with the extentions in the past year. this year im gonna do mini twist on my own hair.
@hintofjay

You got this! My hair doesn’t like the extensions , but I also didn’t moisturize my hair while I’m extensions. Now that my hair is retaining length I’m going to keep up this routine and soon my hair will look like the extensions lol 😆❤️❤️🫶🏽

Please make the flaxseed gel! 👀 No shelf product can compare since it has what I like to call “from the ground” ingredients with no additives. It also works well on the edges and you can add any essential oils for benefits.

You may have mentioned this but Aloe has protein in it and you can get protein overload using it 😫 it happened to a couple of creators , especially if your low porosity ! Water with vegetable glycerin is the holy grail for me it is literally so hydrating then I put the butter on it's so bomb!!!
@hintofjay
@hintofjay 7 месяцев назад
This is new info for me. I read that the protein content is low. So far I haven’t had any issues, but I appreciate you for sharing that knowledge ❤❤❤ one day I will have to give vegetable glycerin a try!!!😊

Love your videos! Are you low or high porosity? I'm following along your twisting journey and i switched to braids too! I was doing twists and washing every 2 weeks but my hair was dirty one week and i didn't have time to Retwist the 80 twists i had in so i just put it in 12 plaits lol i used to always keep my hair in 12 plaits and cowash/shampoo DC weekly but i was trying some new with the twists. Anyways are you low or high porosity? Im low btw
@hintofjay
@hintofjay 7 месяцев назад
❤❤thank you !!! I’m not sure what my porosity is, but I think it can take a while for my hair to take in the moisture. Yes I had to change to braids, small twists take toooooo long. ❤❤❤

Hello Jay Please how did you cut your hair yourself. I’m thinking of the best way to trim my hair myself (on blow dried or on heatless stretched hair).
@hintofjay
@hintofjay 7 месяцев назад
Hi when I cut my hair it had already been cut professionally so there wasn’t much for me to do except to take off length. I just eyeballed how much to cut on ends that seemed a little see through, but there really was no true technique for me. If you can have a professional cut it for you I’d recommend that. Otherwise choose a RU-vid video you can follow. As long as you start with fresh ends no matter the shape/neatness of the cut you’ll be fine.

Hi, I have a few questions, because I’m considering trying flaxseed gel. - What has your experience been with the flaxseed gel on your ends? - Does it help prevent tangles on the end? - Do you deal with tangles on your ends from shed hair? I’m currently checking out your video, so please excuse me if you covered this in the video.
@hintofjay
@hintofjay 6 месяцев назад
Flaxseed gel is simply amazing! It hardens the ends just enough to really protect from damage or friction against anything!! I don’t get tangling at my ends often. I typically remove the majority of my shed hair while washing and during rebraid process ( which occurs after I deep condition, so by then my hair is really soft).
@amberkhashmal
@amberkhashmal 6 месяцев назад
@@hintofjay Nice! I’m all for finding good methods for protecting my ends. Currently twirling them and doing vine wrapping has been helping, but it’s frustrating because when I moisturize my hair it unravels. I might give this a try in the near future! 🙂
@hintofjay
@hintofjay 6 месяцев назад
Putting gel on my ends>>then Twisting my ends of my braids first then twirling when there’s one inch of hair really helps me. I think once all my product sits over night that’s what prevent it from unraveling ❤️
