This is the all new Mercedes AMG CLE. This is the first generation of the newest CLE model from Mercedes Benz. There is also a base non AMG 450 version, and an E Performance CLE 63 S model coming out in the future, which both differentiate from the model that is being shown in this video, which is the CLE 53 AMG.
For horsepower and torque figures, the CLE has a lot of specs to offer you. The base 450 version puts out the same power input as the new GLE 450, making 375 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque from a 3.0L inline-6 turbo engine. The 53 AMG model brings a little more power than the 450, at 443 hp and 413 lb-ft (little more hp than the GLE53, but same torque as that car) from a similar 3.0L inline-6 turbo engine tuned by AMG. That still isn’t as powerful as the E Performance AMG model, which puts out a massive 700 hp and 800 lb-ft, likely from a similar 3.0L inline-6 turbo engine with two electric motors and a hybrid system (those power figures and engine specs have been estimated, more details in the future). 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) times have not been revealed for any model yet.
Update: After AMG realized the dislikes of the 2024 AMG C63S E Performance, they are likely to put the 4.0L Twin-Turbo V8 back into the CLE63 E Performance model with the same hybrid technology.
Interior-wise, you would of course get a similar interior to what is inside the new C63S, with an estimated 8 inch driver’s display, and the tablet screen that is also inside both the new C63 and S63. You would also get circular air vents like you get in the other lower trim Mercedes models. There also unsurprisingly isn’t that much room at the back since this is a coupe model. Unfortunately for people who want more room at the back, the CLE will only be offered as a Coupe model (I recommend the C63, S63, or other 4 door models in that case).
Exterior-wise, the back lights will look similar to the backlights on the GLC Coupe, which is kind of funny. You will also get some newly designed wheels with black material mostly being filled in the wheel spokes with silver metal on the outside of the wheel (AMG models only). You will also get some new front lights that look a little bit like the CLA’s front lights on the outside lines. You get two LEDs near the top making a line each, and one full LED line going across the right to left side. You could also pay an extra $1,000+ for a laser light package which brightens the lights, brings more visibility on the road at night, and do light dances when you turn the car on.
Pricing for the new CLE hasn’t been revealed yet, but we can guess it would start at around $60,000 to $70,000 CAD ($44,000 to $52,000 USD). We can expect the 450 and AMG 53 CLE models to come in Spring 2024. As for the E Performance CLE 63 S model, shipping dates haven’t been revealed yet, and that car is still in its pre-production stage, which means that it probably won’t arrive until 2025 or maybe even later.
