Finally took the plunge and purchased a Patrol Warrior after watching your and Cale's video's. Get it in a couple of weeks. We were told by the dealership that only certain stock numbers receive the new entertainment unit however, we were also told it's not as good as the 12.3 aftermarket available and installed in the Samurai....and you lose the 360 camera etc. as you mentioned.
Im glad I got the last of the TiL's that were actually good (2023 model received in feb), also makes it easy to updrage the dash and keep the 360 deg cameras. There is virtually no reason to purchase a 2024 model TiL anymore.. Ti sure but I like the cameras.
Id be happy to have the headunit upgrade as the y62 probably has the worst quality cameras on the market for the 360 view (well it certainly is on my series 3).
People wondering why they took this out or that out.. It's because the new HU is just that.. an off the shelf HU that has zero integration with the vehicle canbus. They provided a basic canbus panel to operate the bare necessities like heater and AC. Anything more sophisticated than that, like the TPMS and top down cameras they just deleted. Clearly the objective was to provide carplay and android auto at minimum cost, which they achieved. Keeping all the other features would have required a great deal more development. Why they couldn't/wouldn't simply adapt the overseas dash setup is the question that only Nissan AU can answer.
What a rubbish update. I wanted a til but the dealership was dix as normal. But glad i got the ti as that stupid compartment at the top. The and the "cooler box" Just should have the heated seats and auto tailgate as an option. That tailgate is f heavy. The rest is mint. I say the 24 update waste of money.
Weird how you guys down under get the beefier rear diff and locker but here in the US we get the better entertainment system. Why can everyone have both?
Nissan Nuts, keep a cig lighter, get rid of a Tyre Pressure Monitor System, replace it with an orange light really? So which tyre is under inflated? The alert comes on when tyre goes 5psi under the listed number on tyre placard. So Nissan obviously do not know their customer dynamics. A 4x4 without a visual TPMS is absurd. Nissan needs to step up its game & have those at Directed Technologies update as a priority. Lost heated seats. Our Jeep GC Overland cost us $70k in 2015 and had Panoramic Sunroof, Auto Lift Tailgate, Heated/Cooled Seats, heated Steering wheel, TPMS & much more now becoming out town car with our new 24 Ti to be our tow unit.
who needs a sunroof and luxury car bits ,I want towing pay load , cargo space for my camping KIT, in the U.S Nissan calls them armada ,what dumb name think if it was called patrol how many more could be sold
