Great video. I definitely can relate to the sticker trends and using product that reflects more of my personality and journaling style. I have actually been very grateful that Cocoa Daisy has a skip feature with their Subscriptions now and I don’t have to invest or resell kits I don’t like. It’s a weight lifted up that I can try other shops and get what I want with that money. Minimal decorations. Less is definitely more, especially with the rising costs of everyday essentials. I am actually trying my hand in Bullet Journaling and am excited about a more commonplace book (like you said) and less planner hopping. I am not a 1 book person, but I would like more consistency in a main planner system. I look forward to using my stash and hopefully find a group that I can do swaps with. It would be fun to do planner product swaps. So many great takeaways in this video. -Jen
just discovered your channel and i love how intentional it is. love the recap on trends and predictions, can't wait to see what 2024 brings us trends wise
Very good points made. I have too much! I love all the planners and pens, and stickers I don’t use as much! Last minute on Dec 23, I ordered a Hobonichi Cousin and that will be my one book planner for next year. Then going forward, I’m not going to get sucked into all the pretty EC planners that end in June. I’ve never liked academic year planners! So all of a year in one. But I do hate Monday start monthlies because I’m 60 yrs old and a monthly spread has always been Sun-Sat in my brain! I quick ordered stickers to redate the monthly view to how my brain works! Finally I hope to use more of my stamps etc in there and less stickers, after I use up my huge stash!
I don't think that I will ever be a one planner person. I generally like at least a weekly and daily planner. I am also trying a separate health planner this year.
@@planningandpowerlifting That’s a great idea and a very responsible thing to do! This is giving me an idea! 🤔. LOL. Thank you! Have a safe, happy, healthy, and blessed New Year!!! 🎉
@@carolyncoppola974 , thanks. I hope you also have a great new year. The health planner serves 2 purposes. I can keep my information private since my other planners are usually open on my desk. Also, when I go to the doctor, I can simply hand her my planner.
Yep I quit getting cloth and paper last year. I think I got one box and 2023 just not worth it is the same stuff over and over and I don’t need any more sticky notes or sticky pads and if I want to insert I just print it out so I’m with you. in 2024. I’m using what I have.
I'm ending my sub box but slightly different reasons. I expected more dashboards and things that could be repurporsed or wasn't SO specific. I don't need a bunch of plant or book inserts. Also they send so many notebooks. I don't mind 80 stickies cuz I'll use them but full notebooks? Come on. I don't need a checklist book separate from a task book 😂
Hello! Thank you for this video! I agree with this entire video. Such wise words. For me - after numerous attempts at so many different planner systems, I finally found “the one”! Its the Traveler’s Company notebook (passport size). It holds only what I need and a few of my “favorite things”, and is small enough to go where I go. My problem with kits and subs is that I can only use the small washi tapes and stickers and alot of the packs get wasted. So now I’m just doing ME and not what THEY are selling! I am still trying to find journaling/fountain pen communities near me! I’m really looking forward to 2024! Thank you again! Have a safe, happy, and blessed New Year! 😊
I agree as well. I also think that we created a really unrealistic model when it comes to planning which i see shifting slowly to something more attainable.
I agree with you. I cancelled subscriptions this year and kits I already had I used in a memory planner which I will not be repeating this new year. I'll use what I have in one planner and journal. Connecting more with others would be awesome.
Yup, it seems we have similar thoughts. In my version on this topic, I mentioned that commonplacing is taking a front seat and I love it. Also, kits are just not as useful as we might want our planners and notebooks to be moving forward. However, this applies a bit different to "planner focus" channels since we use different options to cater the audience and trends. (A whole new topic in itself)
Interesting predictions! It does feel like the trends might shift to more reccomendations and more personalized connections to certain brands and items. Like, I tried out some Midori notebooks for the first time this year and enjoyed the quality of the paper, and delved into Field Notes for less perfectionist journaling and jotting down checklists. Both were good experiences that will continue to the next year.
