Having to work a lot with Meraki and Azure lately, this resonates. They will put a box in your office and be like... Checkmark every service you want. Security? Sure umbrella plugin, network? Sure, another module installed. Everything as a service, the customer doesn't own anything.

I really enjoyed your take on the economy and geo politics. I would love more videos with your take.

Kind of has shades of what Vmware & Broadcam are doing now, Broadcam probably realises that smaller business's aren't worth the hassle and will focus on large enterprise & Gov

I think Juniper could be better but after HPE are new owners now it is a problem, they are "capable" to kill Juniper and that will be very sad

Hey man, good to hear your takes on the economy. Could you do a video on the job loss due to AI/robotics that is coming?

I did a couple videos a while ago about AI (though I don't know if they survived my content purge). The more I think about it the more my opinions shift. It's nearly impossible to predict. Recently I saw an interview with Jeff Bezos. At first he seemed to be anti-AI he basically said that AI was likely to destroy humanity (not in a Terminator scenario, but more of economically). He was really... really worried about AI. THEN the interviewer asked him about monetizing AI. Jeff's eyes lit up and he became super excited. He jumped right in to all the many ways that he was going to sell AI and all the money he was going to make from it. This brief interaction really summed up the problem... The people who area actually in a position to regulate AI are far...FAR too greedy to do just that. The Jeff Bezos and Ellon Musks are constantly talking about how bad AI is, but they PERSONALLY see it was a way to get even richer. That's not going to change. We as a society WORSHIP these sociopaths. We've been brainwashed to believe that rich people are better and smarter than us. Hell, the modern Evangelical Christian church now teaches, proudly and loudly, that wealth is a sigh of God's favor. So, NOTHING is going to change. Some people like to compare the coming AI revolution to the industrial revolution. Sure, it was rough for some people as the farming jobs disappeared, but eventually so many MORE jobs were created. That's not going to happen with AI. The only solution is going to be heavy handed government intervention. But that NEVER happens until AFTER the problem is usually too big to fix. We'll see, but for now I can only recommend that we live in the moment. Because thinking about the future is too depressing.

@@jeremiahwolfe I think you're spot on. Government intervention is only going to come AFTER there is wide-spread poverty and disaster as most of the workforce is automated out of a job.

Interesting video. I agree I’ve heard from others as well Cisco is trying to go towards something like software as a service instead of hardware as a service. Do you think we really made it out of the recession? I’ve heard some people mention the inverse yield curve. What are your thoughts on that?

Hi Jeremiah, can you make a video of how you would go from entry level / helpdesk to where you are now?

Just for something on top of my mind , your predictions seems realistic in time or going forward for tech in general , so what that leave skill wise for junior Engineers who strive to study and improve in Cisco products or certs ? more opportunities for CCIE ? What do you think for aspiring CCIE and thinking a start of a journey looks like ? Thanks mate

My thoughts exactly. I've been in Tier 1 help desk for the past 2.5 years and I'm looking to start taking certifications to move further up the ladder. I'm curious to know what implications this has on people in my situation.
