Thank you my dear love birds to talk about our newest genre movie, it is so rare that France agrees to put money on this kind of genre that without foreigners support it would still be too rare in my country. If you aren't bothered by the social subtext (french signature 😀). i was sure that my dear Kali would love it, hope you get better Sis'
Thank you for the review. Definitely going to watch this tonight. I hope you feel better Kali. I think I could take on Michael Myers any day but if giant spiders are after me, I might be the first one dead.
In california we can see lots of tarantulas crossing the roads during sept>oct migration.Love it.On a creepy note, i like to scare myself by imagining a 2-ft long spider up in the corner of the cieling when i enter my house, just resting there.I must've got that from a tiktok short spoof.😊
[SPOILERS ESSAY] I noticed a bit of an underlying commentary in the film, that it's peoples' arrogance which causes this catastrophe in the first place. The pawn shop guy sells the first spider to make a profit, along with the rest of his insect/arachnid stock; our leading protagonist buys it and brings it to the apartment, specifically the illegal and/or endangered ones, out of a well-intentioned effort to give them good homes and make them happy. The spiders would never have come anywhere near those people, had human intervention not brought them there. Then once they're actually on the loose, they're doing what comes naturally to them: adapting to their environment, defending their homes, and feeding on the resident prey that's been made available to them. And let's not forget the plot twist at the end, where it turns out that police intervention helped turn the situation from bad to worse, knowing exactly what was going on and choosing not to help, because *they* decided it was the best course of action! This all comes beautifully to a head in the very last scene of the movie, where our protagonist admires a spider in the wild, before blowing it away and letting it continue to reside in its natural environment. Maybe I'm reading too deep into the film, but the recurring message that I got from it was, "leave nature alone, humans can't control or contain it". The spiders are terrifying, yeah, but not evil. They're just animals that've been forced into a situation where they need to either adapt, or die. Let them be in their proper habitat, because in the end, that's their home and they belong there.
Even though there's virtually no gore (I'd actually call this a more 'believable' approach to the spider theme), the viewing experience was extremely disturbing and creepy for me. They made me deeply care for the characters, as their portrayal felt real, genuine and believable (no over the top caricatures), and there were some emotionally heavy scenes here. Was not a fan of the "I swear - don't swear" plot layer, but other than that, enjoyed it a lot. The fact that spiders aren't portrayed as this over the top meat grinders that tear your limbs apart, somehow made it even more scary for me. XD
I have to say one more thing. Right when I paused it I was about to tap out right in the middle couldn't take it anymore... My husband told me to finish watching it... And I did and I'm glad I did because that was the point that the spiders kind of started being a little bit more sci-fi
Thanks for mentioning when a movie has CGI and or practical effects. Knowing if it's good CGI or not is it good indicator if I'll give it a chance. Bad CGI can take me out of a movie. I get distracted then I'm over it. Thanks guys!
Jason you know me as a fan of channel going back 6 years or more. ....that being said your wife kaylee was highlight here!!! Shes a doll. ❤❤ her ellie tattoo and you are meant for each other. Lol. F do i know? Seems like you are. 😆 greetings from Milwaukee Wisconsin bro
Nice. My grandfather owned a house on 61st and Morgan. I'm stuck in a crappy area for now. I'm on 29th and Lapham. Definitely down with the Pack Attack!
Okay so the movie was awesome it was fantastic but it had me... Let me tell you it had me in the first half I'm not going to lie. When they started getting a little too big I started easing up on the anxiety a little
My family moved to a new town when I was in high school, a much warmer climate. In my first day in a new school, I felt something needling my big toe. I took off my shoe and there was a spider biting at my foot so big, I could see the hairs on its legs. I flattened this thing in front of 300 kids in front of my new school….never forgot that day. Spiders and me? It’s a no. Hope the Mrs. feels better! Will check this out. 🕷️
Nothing made sense in this movie. How could the spiders multiply that fast. The building is covered in cobwebs in zero time. Annoying characters that just couldn't shut up. Talking but not communicating. Especially with the police. Hey, let's fight the police and get them killed later even with protective gear. Throw in a little pitch black. Light will save us. The police just closing the building without big announcement. For me most overrated movie of the year.
They multiply at the speed they do. That is nothing new for films haha. Same with the webs. And annoying characters make sense, they are just annoying haha
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 At least give us a little explanation. Sometimes an exposiiton dumb is needed. 🙈😁 They could have shown just a little what the police is doing or uncovering outside. We already got to know that one cop. Sure the runtime would be bloated and the focus would shift. But at least I would not be in company with those building people. 😜
Films like this force me to contemplate when I stopped being fun. 😅 I couldn't get over the inciting incident that kicks the plot into action. A water damaged shoe box. I couldn't have fun after that.
Nah, I just wish there was a more clever reason for the spider to get loose initially. I'm normally open to suspending my disbelief, but the main character just leaving the Spider in a shoebox...even if he thought it was a harmless Spider was a lapse in logic plot wise and from a scripting standpoint to me. "Eight Legged Freaks" didn't really have a crazy intelligent reason for the mayhem. But since the tone was more campy and fun, I guess I didn't mind as much. Happy Weekend.
I watched this twice today, thats how much I enjoyed it and im a severe erachnaphobe . This was absolutely terrifying and uncomfortably fun- that scene in the hallway with the light switch bout had me passing out for real. Hope you feel better soon Kali! 🤗🤗🥰😱💀🩸🕷
