Funny this video came out today! Just yesterday, I test drove these exact same three vehicles. I drove The RAV first and thought it was nice but wasn’t super impressed. Then I drove the Lexus and loved it, but felt like it was so fancy and maybe too much car for me, the last car was the CRV. I fell in Love with this one which I wasn’t expecting at all. It just feels sturdy and so quiet. I loved the way it drove, so easy. Honda is selling at MSRP and is throwing in the add ons at no charge and also giving me the roof racks for free. The Lexus would have been 10k more and the RAV 4 XSE was more expensive than the CRV sport L. I’m going today to pick it up.
My neighbor purchased a 2023 Honda CRV hybrid for 46K. I purchased the 2023 Lexus NX350H for 50K in America. Both cars have excellent build quality and handling. The Honda is a slightly larger vehicle. The reason I went with Lexus is they offered a 14-inch infotainment screen and a Heads-Up display. The Honda came with a 9 inch screen. The American version lists the Lexus at 240 HP. Around town I get 41 MPG and sometimes higher. The Honda was about a mile per gallon less, but as I said, it is larger. Overall, both are nice cars, but for the small price difference, the Lexus gives you a more upscale vehicle.
@@vontrap6942what does it say exactly? The three vehicles are very similar in terms of performance and reliability so obviously it’s gonna come down to little things like this.
in some countries, NX lexus is at least 100k more than CRV. NX is comparable to x3 and GLC. about same price. i don’t understand why your CRV is so expensive and NX is so cheap
I tried to get an NX350H for over a year. Fortunately I also ordered a Rav 4 Hybrid Ltd at the same time. The Toyota arrived 1st. It's the exact same ICE engine , you don't have to put premium in the NX350H, the only difference is the NX350H has a larger electric motor giving it more HP, don't waste your money if you have an NX350H, put 87 in it.
I was going crazy deciding between the Audi Q5, Toyota Rav4( I already have a 2015 Rav4) and Lexus NX350. I pick up my lexus NX350 tomorrow. I chose that because I've always wanted a luxury vehicle and I love it because I work so darn hard, and have the long grevity because its gonna be my retirement car.
For me the winner is the Rav4 XSE with technology package. For parking the 360 parking is an excellent parking resource. Makes it easy to park in tight spaces and see around you when people unexpectedly walk in back of the car. The digital navigation is key for night driving. The digital display makes it easier for older drivers to see what is behind them at night. Also it has a heads up display. I like the ambient lighting features that the Honda does not have. Larger screen size is important for navigation, especially in busy cities like LA. The large screens are the way of the future for this reason. The larger screens allow one to have the 360 and parking path visible at once (this is key for me)With AI technology the screens will be partitioned to provide more useful information than we have today. Larger screens are easier to read for older drivers and are more 508 accessibility compliant.
Have the NX 350h but MAY have considered the CR-V Hybrid IF it was available when I got it. Having said that I have no complaints - it has been a great vehicle so far.
Canadian viewer here. As much as I love your vids and get excited about Toyotas, the reality is that it will take anywhere between 6 months to 18 months for high volume Toyota and Lexus dealerships in the greater Toronto area to get inventory of new vehicles. Toyota is not an option for me and I’m looking at other companies.
I purchased a 2024 Honda CRV touring six months ago. I thought I loved it until that air conditioning broke six months in. Dealer kept saying they fixed it but they were not fixing the problem. I ended up trading it in for a 2025 Lexus NX. So far love the Lexus!!
I really like that the CRV does not have a transmission. I drive a 2024 Honda Accord EX-L Hybrid. I get 60 mpg to a full tank of gas when I baby it. I would buy a CRV if I wanted a crossover.
I’m holding off on buying a Hybrid due to premium prices and no inventory, once manufacturers start producing more Hybrid’s in quantity prices will stabilize!
I ended up with 2025 CRV Sport Touring. We are very happy with our purchase; we used COSTCO to buy it. I looked at the RAV4 and it was okay except for the passenger seat, it was 2 or 3 inches higher than driver's seat. The salesman told me they are all that way. That was a deal breaker for me.
Another option that should be mentioned is the Toyota Venza. You get the same engine/hybrid set up as the RAV4 Hybrid but in a nicer package (exterior and interior) but not at as high a price as the Lexus NX 350H. You lose a bit of storage space from the RAV4 but the Venza feels airier inside. I would have liked to check out the CRV Hybrid but it wasn't around when we got our Venza. But seeing what some reviewers/people have been getting mileage wise in the CRV, I'm happy we went with the Venza. After 2 years of ownership, we are averaging 41.1 mpg (5.72 L/100 km). Way better than we anticipated.
Thank you very much for your review. Although I respect the other two competitors. As the owner of a 2021 CRV I have no doubt that my next vehicle will be a new CRV. There is something magical about this car. This vehicle neutralizes the traffic jams and stresses in my daily life. This vehicle conveys feelings of being calm. I hope that in the following models, Honda will add an electric motor to the rear axle instead of a front engine drive system. And you will also add large batteries on a plug-in basis
You will spend $10,000-15,000 more for the NX, with smaller carry space, and utility value. If you need to feed your ego, the NX is the way to go, but if you want the Best Buy, go for the CRV Touring Hybrid. We bought 2, first time we have not bought Lexus. They were available on about 2 weeks wait time.
Best buy for me is likely the RAV4 Prime. Beats all in all around specs. Has way to get $6500 off price as well. Doesn't look like a oversized mini van either like the CRV which is nice. Also has more all around features including plug in the back and quieter and MUCH QUICKER electric motor. 0-60 in 5.7 seconds vs probably 8+ on the slow CRV. NX isn't for me though as I don't care about a bigger screen and supposed "better" interior when I get plenty with the Prime already.
Here in San Diego, Both the Venza Limited and the RAV4 limited are around $45,000, making the Venza the better value. I think it should have been included in your comparison even more so than the NX.
The likelihood that the current iteration of the RAV4 will also see its final year in 2024, makes the argument even stronger to have included the soon-to-be defunct Venza at the end of 2024 in this comparison. Will the Venza's replacement, the Insignia, be as good a value against the next RAV4 model, or a better value against the NX ? Hope you'll do a video on that. Glad to learn you did at least consider including the Venza in this comparison. Good video and an interesting take on the vehicles you included.
I love your videos because they always answer questions that I had in my mind.Next kindly compare Mazda CX with 2.5l turbo engine with lexus NX 350 F sport with 2.4l turbo engine
I purchased a CRV hybrid 2024 after test driving the Toyota. The CRV quality of fit and finish was superior to the Toyota. The CRV drove and felt like higher end vehicle.
Here in Dubai, I am watching this video with a 2006 model corolla in hand which has crossed 7,57,000 kms. What ever anyone says about any car. I would go for toyota vehicle any day.
Correction: the hybrid Lexus NX costs about $500 less than the turbo gas version. Made going hybrid a no-brainer for me. I bought a 2024 NX350h and I LOVE it! I've owned Lexuses for 20 years, and this is my favorite so far. It's a true pleasure to drive, nice ride, plush. The 14" screen is awesdome, as is the heads-up display.
I want the CRV but the lack of a spare tire is really bothering me! I would even buy my own spare but there is no where to store it because that is where they put the battery. Ugh!
The CRV sport FWD comes with blind spot monitor, sunroof, leather wrapped steering wheel, and touch start button, none of that is included in the Rav4 LE, and it's cheaper than the latter. With FWD, you get better mpg and you don't have to worry about the drive shaft. I'd go for the CRV basic trim when it gets a refresh for more reliability, since the Rav4 will be redesigned soon.
RAV4 LE is very basic and it still has AWD and it starts just $29k. CRV hybrid sport starts 36-37k. If you spend the same money you can get XLE premium which will have everything that you need. RAV4 even gives ventilated seats and a spare tire which CRV doesn't have even on the higher trims.
@@Gopinathk17 Realistically, you're not going to find them at 29K. Rav4 hybrid LE sell for 34K plus add ons and taxes, just check any car site, and you can find CRV sport hybrids for 32K or 33K. Both are still great choices. I'd wait for the redesigned Rav4 to do another comparison.
@@cesargarza1393 where in the world they are selling CRV hybrid for 32k? It starts $36.5k in MA ( the place where I'm living in) plus markups upto $2-5k. I bought my 2024 RAV4 hybrid XLE (without any packages) for $32.5k on a deal with $2.5k discount as I financed through Toyota finance. Actual sticker price is $35k.
I own RAV4 Limited. My son has the CT which was the UX predecessor. The UX and CT are not really SUVs. They are more like wagons than SUVs. With only a slight improvement in mileage (3 MPG) over RAV or NX, it has less features, has MUCH less room, is much slower and has no off road capability whatsoever. (Front wheel drive only and over 25% less ground clearance). The UX is the Lexus entry vehicle and should be considered only if your budget won't support the NX.
The NX350H luxury is loaded with all kind of B.S. add-ons including a tow hitch that I believe is installed by UHAUL. Tacky....Extra dealer charges. It's just not worth the extra money.
Love watching your videos. Can you make Video for RAV4 Prime vs Outlander PHEV (or any other PHEV Hyundai/Kia/Ford) including mileage as when you have 0% battery & best value for money trim for both& in the end verdict. Thanks!!!! also are PHEV actually worth the cost in terms of mileage? or just hybrid is enough
After this specific video, and minding that I used to own a 2016 rav4 and 2013 Lexus RX 350 before, ... I'm certainly going to the 2024 Honda CRV this time . Thank you
The Rav4 and NX350 h are made in the same plant in Cambridge Ontario. Quality of construction should be the same and pros and cons of Toyota hybrid drive vs Honda hybrid drive will be the same. Price difference is pretty high between the Lexus and the other 2.
Can I get a Diesel RAV4? I could run BioDiesel as well. This would get much better MPG and not be a complicated Hybrid System and have a Large Battery that would be a Expensive Replacement when the Hybrid Battery goes out.
Tested all 3. Honda passenger seat even highest level has no height adjustment. Plus the NX 350H was much higher quality feeling and substantial. Rav felt like a rental car compared to other two. NX number 1, distant 2nd CRV and Rev last place. At least for my wife and I and hour long tests.
The jack that came with our 2020 rav4 hybrid, is poorly designed; so having a spare tire was not a plus for us. I compared it to our 2017 Camry hybrid and the jack was more structurally sound than the rav4's
Lets hope Toyota sort out the easy to steal in less than 2 minutes problem when they launch the new model. Hopefully the CAN bus will be less exposed and easy to plug into. No more thieves ducking under the near side front wheel arch and gaining access to the car.
For me I would have chosen the CRV but not having a spare tire or a temperature gauge just ruined the whole thing for me. I’ll take the Rav4. I know it’s a proven and very reliable SUV and it beats the price of the other two.
Two problems with CR-V (we considered and test drove it before ending up with the Lexus NX hybrid): 1. Carbon build-up potential (it has direct injection only, unlike Toyota/Lexus hybrid injection. 2. No ventilated seats (and when we tested it only black interior was available). That rules out faux leather interior in California. So cloth only (lower trim, smaller screen), and black seats only too!
Not sure about the Lexus, but the CRV hybrids are only rated to tow 1,000 lbs. The RAV-4 hybrid is 1700 from data I found. Does anyone know how the AWD systems stack up? It is clever to convert FWD RAV-4 (and I presume Lexus) to AWD by putting electric motors for the rear, as opposed to the CRV, which has the mechanical connection to the rear. Is one type of system significantly superior in low traction conditions or deep snow? The lack of a spare in a "SUV" is a little disappointing. Yeah, you get a "tire repair kit" with the CRV, but if you gouge a sidewall, that repair kit won't help. Then you have to ensure you've broken down in an area with cell coverage and roadside assistance, which you might wait hours for. Obviously if you are going to go far off road, you're going to have to think about an after-market spare, and a way to anchor it down so it doesn't fly around in a crash. The 1.5 turbo CRV does have a spare and tows 1500 lb. But for some reason, the NHV mitigation is more robust in the hybrid. Thanks for the video! I'm in beginning stages of research and shopping to replace my '14 Forester XT. Seems like the Lexus is likely to have the smallest cargo space of the 3, and maybe the smallest back seats too. Curious how much. (I'll look up the data.)
Looking at a couple different cars under $45,000. Thoughts on Genisus gv70 base model, Audi Q3, bmw x1, and Hyundai Tucson limited hybrid? Thanks for thoughts.
Hyundai has a issues with their hybrid , read many reviews of it just getting 26mpg , the gv70 is electric only or the gas engine so doesn’t really help u , the Audi and bmw if you’re only going to lease it or keep for 3 to 5 years
The Infotainment System needs to go. The Infotainment System is not a Upgrade. This is a Expensive item to repair if is goes out. The Infotainment System is also a Detraction when Driving.
We looked at everything and then bought the 2024 Toyota Rav4 LE for $31,677 with all wheel drive in silver paint. Practical, reliable, great resale, roomy, great handling, quick, and 31 mpg. Everything we need and nothing we don't ! Plenty of horsepower and on regular gas. Now my son and daughter both want one of their own ! It's the smart buy. It took us eight months to decide and then...it was a no-brainer !
You're looking at the wrong brands if you want that. I suggest looking at GM or Dodge if you want defects. These brands are literally some of the most reliable of all car brands in existence.
Why not throw the Acura RDX into the mix as its the Acura version of the CRV, like the NX250 is the Lexus version of the version RAv4? That would be a fair. comparison.
Asking for a Like and/or Subscribe is like asking for a tip--there’s a presumption that the delivered content is worthy of the requested gratuity. So asking at the beginning of the presentation assumes I will like what I’m about to see. Really? How would I know if I’m going to like it if I haven’t even seen it? Besides, just asking at all is reason-enough to not-like the video or not-want to subscribe to future offerings. If you’re going to beg for approval; at least wait until I have an opportunity to view the content, then decide if it’s worth-while.
I like the Honda Hybrid the best except I do not like black wheels and that is all you can get on the Honda CR-V Hybrid offerings... they don't even offer a choice... makes no sense to me.
Because it's a great reliable cars with some great features inside and higher reliability than even the Honda. I'm going for a RAV 4 Prime that beats all these out in terms of value and has an additional $6500 off you can apply via a loophole.
@@kerrydaniels8460 is rather enjoy the premium scale interiors and pay for gas and upgrade after 5-7 years than drive that industrial basic boring interior of your rav4
