The majority (around 85% according to my local dealer here in the UK) of those buying this machine, including myself, are older riders wanting small lighter, more nimble, and easier to manage. The reviews of owners say it's an exemplary machine. It really needs to be ridden on twisting roads to get a true feel for the bike and its capabilities.

That seams to fall in line with what I've been hearing also. Its on my list of bikes I want to buy. Even with the short time I got to try it I was having such a good time. Thank you for sharing what you've heard also. I mentioned in the video that its this information that helps others and I can't thank you all enough for taking your time to comment. Stay safe

Buddy went down this path and finally made his purchase on Friday. He was looking at this 400, the Svartpillen 401 and Z500.. He then saw the New Ninja 500 and fell in love. OMG I love the 40th ANNIVERSARY EDITIONS in the Kawasaki's this year.(brings back memories) He just got the base model, but it seems to have everything you could ask for at 5299. I sat on the Triumph 400 and thought it would be great to commute to work and play a lil bit after work. Motorcycles are personal and you have to like how it looks...This Speed 400 is great looking for this style of bike. Good review! You should ride review the Svart...it's another good Daily rider.

I am happy to hear that he found the bike for him. Its interesting and Ive had that same moment that I was looking between a few different models and ended up with something different because I saw it and it spoke to me. Yeah the anniversary editions are really cool looking. Nostalgia is definitely in play for those. The zx10r is awesome looking in that style and I would travel a good distance to film one. Knowing me I'd probably end up buying it lol. I look forward to riding the ninja and z500 models but the cfmoto 450 models were so good it will be interesting to see if kawasaki can retake my love over the cfmotos. As always I greatly appreciate you for sharing your friends experience and your thoughts. Always greatful for your thoughts. In regards to the Svart I have always wanted to ride one but no luck. Guess I need 10k subs before I can get a chance to try one lol

I agree the smaller displacement segment it getting so good. So much value for money. Appreciate you putting the other bikes in this segment against this one near the end of the video. You always have my support! I appreciate you are taking the merch money and plan to give it back to the motorcycle community. I bought a few shirts! Stay safe

We don't need first ride or first impression videos we need long term ownership in how the bike is behaving
@MotorcycleDemoRiders
@MotorcycleDemoRiders 2 месяца назад
I respect your feelings on the subject and getting long-term reviews are great no doubt. I watch those videos also. At some point I do hope to be able to do videos like that but to get a chance to do a test ride and get a simple first impression of a bike is not something that everyone gets a chance to do. I believe it's a good thing to be able to see videos of all types on a bike you are interested in. That said I am just having fun and sharing the first time I get to try a bike out in my spare time. Also, this channel is therapy from the normal everyday working life I have for me.

59 YO rider , with 39 years experience! Looking for my retirement bike. I have a tw200 for off road and am OVER the whole max HP/stoppie thing. Good review! I cannot decide between the speed 400, and the 400x. I live rural so dirt roads are going to be used. I would guess 80% paved, 20% dirt.......
@MotorcycleDemoRiders
@MotorcycleDemoRiders 2 месяца назад
Thank you for taking the time to watch! Based on what you mentioned I'd look at the 400x over the speed. I got to ride the 400x right after this and I liked them both. My final thought after the 400x was if you were going to be on the road all the time then buy the speed but any off road get the scrambler. I still love the high horsepower bikes but the lower cc lower power bikes are just so much fun to ride and go through the gears. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts and opinions.

Hi great vid, curious would a 6'2 rider feel comfy on this ?
@MotorcycleDemoRiders
@MotorcycleDemoRiders 2 месяца назад
I would think so. My knees fell slightly lower on the tank at 5'9 so a taller rider would be right in line. The taller seat height would be good also. Would like to hear your take if you get a chance to sit on it. Appreciate you for taking the time to watch and for the question.

Mine would not start the first day that i got it. Got it to the shop and they i guess fixed it and now it is doing it all over again and it is back in the shop again. I made a video of what it is doing on my channel. I would turn the key to start and and got nothing, i would then turn it off and turn it back on and it would fire right up. It does this ALL THE TIME!!

That sucks to deal with no doubt! I watched your video, and it seems like some type of software or a sensor issue to me since everything on the dash is on. Next time I'm out at the dealer, I will ask them if they have dealt with this problem. I am very interested in seeing what the solution to this issue would be. Appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with the bike even if its negative at the moment. Hopefully it will get resolved so you can enjoy the bike.

Only thing looks wise I don't like about these new 400s is the gold forks. If I bought one I'd have to wrap or paint them. Thinking about getting the Scrambler version as my secondary bike/ bad weather bike. Haven't had the chance to ride one yet. I've heard the gearing is quite short, did you feel like you had to shift pretty quickly as you accelerated?
@MotorcycleDemoRiders
@MotorcycleDemoRiders 2 месяца назад
The gold forks isn't for everyone. I am currently editing the 400x right now to come out on Wednesday at 6pm. Got to keep my release schedule but now with 3 cameras it has increase the time considerably lol. Anyway Yes you do shift quickly and will work that gearbox a lot. Which is fine and can be very enjoyable. It's a very torquey engine and sometime suprisingly so. I got the front a few inches off the ground on the 0 to 60 on the scrambler which I wasn't intending to do. All in all I liked them both and it really depends on what you what to do with the bike in the end. Appreciate your for taking the time to watch and share your thoughts. Stay Safe

@@MotorcycleDemoRiders Nice! Appreciate the info. I'm having so much trouble deciding what bike to get. It's between the Scrambler 400x, a Scrambler 900 (most expensive option), and a Royal Enfield Interceptor (modding it into a scrambler). It's tough to decide. If money was no object at all I'd definitely get the 900, but the 400 being half the price that'll do everything I need it to do makes the decision so difficult lol
@MotorcycleDemoRiders
@MotorcycleDemoRiders 2 месяца назад
@tomoates8568 Not the easiest of choices. I have been fortunate to try all 3 bikes other than a modded int650 to scrambler. I enjoyed all of them. I was talking to 2 gentlemen before I took the scrambler 400x. 1 was riding a Pan America and the other a Tiger 850. Both were thinking about the Scrambler 400x because it was lighter and it was the perfect amount of power for off road vs what they had. And they aren't wrong. Too much power off road is a detriment not an assist in most cases. Was nice to get there perspective on it. No matter the choice you make I'm sure you will enjoy it. Would be interested to hear which you choose and how you like it after some miles.

Crazy how small capacity bikes are coming back. The trumpet looks nice n all, but then I think back to my old 98 Honda 400 superfour. That thing made 55 bhp and had VTEC so it was fun to make it scream. Other than looks, I just kinda don't get it....
@MotorcycleDemoRiders
@MotorcycleDemoRiders 2 месяца назад
I love that the smaller segment is getting traction in America. So long we all got these larger bikes that were for the most part delivering unusable power on the street. 40bhp for 5k is a great value for money and is very usable for the everyday rider. Its not going to attract everyone but we need more riders and if this helps get more people on 2 wheels I am a happy person. That said I am jealous about the CB400SF because we never got it. That looked like a blast to ride! Appreciate you sharing your thoughts and opinions.

@@MotorcycleDemoRiders yeah I see your point of a sexy looking lower power machine attracting newer riders... Less intimidating. Guess I've just been spoiled with the 400 class as it seemed to have hit it's peak mid to late 90's when I was just starting out. Had the gsxr400, superfour, 400 bandit, xjr, fzr400exup, bros, vfr400, rvf, cbr400rr, zzr4. Most of these bikes were making 50-65hp. wish Id've kept what I had, worth some serious money now 🤣 Would be nice to see a resurgence.

Everyone posts the misleading $4995 msrp. It's $7,000-$7,200 in the DFW Texas area OTD.
@MotorcycleDemoRiders
@MotorcycleDemoRiders 7 дней назад
The msrp is static but the otd prices vary a lot. I would prefer we all get the same price no matter where it is but I don't think that will ever happen. I have seen otd from 6.2k and up and as you said your region is higher. Just what we need to deal with even if I personally don't like it.

I’m still debating between a 400x and TW200
@MotorcycleDemoRiders
@MotorcycleDemoRiders 2 месяца назад
I haven't ridden a tw200 but between the 2 they are very different. The tw looks interesting with its larger tires. Looks like a farm bike vs the 400x which is that mix of off and on road. For 600 more I would go with the 400x. Just more value for money overall but I can see specific reasons for the tw if I'm rarely if ever on the road. I'd love to try one. One of the Beauty's of motorcycles is the personal nature of them and what do we need from the machine. No matter your choice stay safe
