The new Triumph 400 Speed. For grown up people who would rather not grow up any more. But does it fall short compared to the Triumph Scrambler 400X? This time I have it for a little longer to see how it fairs in the real world. Once again, big thanks to Suffolk Triumph for the extended loan. A marvellous Dealer with first class service.

I appreciate the positive vibes in all your videos, regardless of weather conditions. I'm lucky to own the speed 400 next to a big bike for a couple of weeks now. Yes, one has to manage expectations in terms of power, but this is such a fun, capable and comfortable bike. it somehow manages to distil the essence of motorcycling for me. I also think this must be one of the best beginner bikes outhere but still offers joy for the seasoned rider.

I have never owned a single cylinder bike, and this would be a great start. Looks great, sounds good. Powerful enough and cheap to run. Ideal. The T100 is a great back roads bike, happy at any speed with the torquey engine. Looking forward to a test ride in early April while the T100 is being serviced.

Cracking little bike . I don't really think it looks much like a Hunter though , not dissimilar but with a mono shock rear and much sharper styling it's quite a different vibe . I think it's worth every penny of the extra £1200. It's the 400 I'd choose but for you TAYM the Scram variant would be a more natural fit I'd imagine and make that perfect winter bike you've been after ? ... marvellous ! 😊

I’m in the southeast and not seen them at my 2, somewhat local, dealers 😢 my most local dealership no longer allows Test rides out of the parking lot due to a wreck and lawsuit 🤷🤦

@@TAYM Aw man, I've been counting the decent days since the start of the year in Gloucester, and I've had about 2.5 days so far where i've managed to get to work without getting soaked or blown around by stormy winds...soon be summer! Meanwhile, confusing all my customers at work, I ride a Triumph Speed Four, so people keep asking me what it's like etc, but they think i'm on about the Speed 400, it's confusing the hell out of them when I tell them it's a 4 cylinder 600. Finally got to see a Speed 400 in person though a few days ago, great looking bike, and one of my work colleagues is planning to get one, they look like a lot of fun!

It's a very nice little bike TAYM I will have to try one sometime could be fun ,if I remember rightly Mrs TAYM quite liked the scrambler so maybe this will get a similar response . I think my only sort of concern maybe is the acceleration "if you get me" as in joining traffic or from traffic lights since my pet hate is being pushed along by cars stuck up my backside . Cool though 👌👍

I think from traffic lights, no problem, 😁 from slip roads, only very short ones would be an issue, and I am only riding it at half throttle 😁 thanks crumb😁

I had the Scrambler 1200 as a loan bike while my Speed Triple 1200RS was in for service and I thought ( and this 100 being honest) I thought 🤔 “ Why the hell did I buy a Speed Triple RS because the 1200 Scrambler is 1 Cooler 2 More comfortable and 3 it’s still a 1200 and I absolutely loved it 😂! My point is to definitely go and ride loads of different bikes before you spend your money 👍🏾

I think so, Someone said 60 mph at 6000, For the other one, And Taym's seem to FLY much better, I still think it needs gearing up some more, I think the power will take it.

I do think it is a cracking looking little bike and it could only be better for me if it looked like a baby Bonneville more than a Speed Twin but I suppose the Bonneville is more of an old man's bike 🤣🤣🤣 I am very tempted but I don't get enough chance to ride the bikes I've got as often as I'd like so I can't really justify another one........or at least that's what the Wife tells me 🤣🤣🤣

i sat on one could get my leg over,having a bad back,its not easy getting my leg over tall bikes,could have had a test ride,but i know what would happen,but in blue.

Too many bad reports of multiple issues coming out of India, mate. I was about to order one, but cancelled. Even you had a little hiccup on ignition. Very disappointed as it seemed like such a great bike.

Just come back fromm the Tokyo motor show , Triumph and Enfield "nailed it " both booths busy and loks of interest in the 400 and the enfield 350 ( a lovely solid well made bike if u ask me ) The pricing triumph 400 about 600 000 yen a second hand bike price and its small and the " ladies" loved it Honda the dumbarses highlighted their "e clutch" over priced high tech garbage sorry honda head out of arse time those subsidised canteens have gone to ya head
