I really like my 2024 Rubicon…simple vehicle with a naturally aspirated V6 engine, eight speed transmission, 4:1 transfer case and two solid axles. Has been relatively the same mechanically for years. It has good phone connectivity for Bluetooth and stereo. Other than that electronics are simple and easily repaired moving forward. I believe it’s one of the last new “old” type vehicles you can buy these days.
@DUNEATV very well said and agree 100. I was just doing research for another video and looked it up. I can buy a full 3.y pentistar crate motor complete from Mopar for 6500 bucks! Pretty dang awesome
@@PonkyKong Honestly the 3.6 is very quiet and very smooth running. With proper maintenance these engines run for a long time. if I did have a problem out of warranty, I would probably just replace it with an another crate motor. That engine with the eight speed automatic and the 456 gears really moves it well!
@DUNEATV nice. Around here people seem to only get around 100 000 miles before they need a motor. But the motors aren't that expensive. And they have enough power. But part of me wants a Rubicon with the LS swap just for the sound. Wish they made a cam and lifter set for the pentastar.
I just bought a 24 Frontier. I'll probably drive it for 15 or 20 years if my only choices for a new vehicle makes me have to keep paying subscriptions to use features I already paid for.
Ive been driving 55 yrs ,dont need big bro Watching me ,controling my car ,anything ,we are big bussiness and the gov and we are hear to help you,as a former president once said ,if you hear that RUN.
Legacy brands see just how good the software and OTAs have been for Tesla and Rivian. They want to implement this technology into their models but charge the customers dearly. First, both Tesla and Rivian are years ahead of legacy makers regarding software and the archectuel underpinning that enables the level of OTAs possible, and second, except FSD, Tesla and Rivian do OTAs for free and make OTAs and these new features a part of the ownership experience.
@smarticus6384 right now they do them for free. Just wait until charging for these ota features are common with big motor companies. Then telsa and rivian will jump right on that. Vw just gave rivian 5 billion dollars for rivian to design their software and help with electric truck design. It's only a matter of time before all brands charge for these features.
@@Jason-Samko Perhaps you are correct, but admittedly, I cannot predict the future. Designing OTA updates to be a revenue stream while others use it to improve the customer ownership experience are two different approaches. However, it would be wise for legacy brands to roll out their pay-to-play OTA “Revenue Stream” desires, maybe after they figure out how to do OTAs like Tesla and Rivian first. It's bad for business, don’t you think?
Being born in 1970. We had none of the technology of today. My 2020 F150. I use 5% of the technology in the pickup. I can not stand the tow package technology. I lose more fuel mileage with the technology than doing it all by myself. Most of our vehicles didn't even have AC or a radio. For directions. Paper map or pull over and ask. You put naps in your head. Tire pressure is the only main tech I use. I don't trust the parking break. I don't trust the lockouts for 4x4. They are only electric. The new vehicles nark on you. If you hook up you cellphone. It will keep all of your information on the vehicle. Why I also own a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has only auto start. Why I bought the cheapest doul sport motorcycle on the market in 2019. 250cc HAWK. Buy the new vehicles. You do not need all of the extras. If no one buys the extras you don't need. They mint stop it and go back to being a human and just let them go or do what humans do. Sell them with the vehicle.
Who runs these car companies? No one wants this new garbage and yet they keep nickel a diming consumers…odd that a car company has to say they respect your privacy..
