If I was goinf to get an F150 then I would definitely get one with the 5.0L Coyote V8 in it, just going have to put it in Sport mode and have a kit to permanently turn off the Auto stop start as well to keep the 5.0L Coyote V8 reliable and solid.

They keep breaking down I think because the oil weight keeps getting thinner. First it was 3K miles with 5w30 weight oil. Now it's 5k and sometimes 10k miles with 0w30.

@alleng012985 Its a good thing I've bought the Titan since it has no cylinder deactivation, no Auto stop start, and it's reliable as hell.

The only things with the 5.0L Coyote V8 is the cylinder deactivation and Auto Stop start crap (which is why I bought the 2024 Nissan Titan with the 5.6L Endurance V8 in it with 400 HP and 413 Ibs of Torque over the 2024 Ford F150 with a 5.0L Coyote V8 with 400 HP and 413 Ibs of Torque cause it has no cylinder deactivation and no Auto stop start crap either).

@@tboe-cr8pz Yet that EcoBoost of yours won't outlast the 5.6L Endurance V8 in the Nissan Titan
@tboe-cr8pz
@tboe-cr8pz 8 дней назад
I don’t own an F150 yet. Yes the titan v8 is good but as a brand, Nissan is dog shit. I had a 2020 tundra with the legendary 5.7 v8 that would’ve spanked the 5.6. But for me, I’m going to go with the 3.5 eco boost which is also tried and true and I’m getting a 175k warranty so not really concerned. But have fun with a failing brand

7.3 Godzilla V8 in the previous HD. That sounds nuts haha. Why are they downsizing it to a 6.8???
@Scroll_Lock
@Scroll_Lock 8 дней назад
They are offering a 6.8l where before it was only a 6.2l which (I might be wrong) was for work trucks only. Your new options will be the 6.8l with what I think is the transmission from the E series work vans. The 6.8l will likely only be available in lowest trim levels for work/fleet trucks. You can get the 7.3l Godzilla as it currently is, or the 6.7L Powerstroke. There will be a new High Output version of the Powerstroke available if you want it.
@Jason-Samko
@Jason-Samko 8 дней назад
Not downsizing the 7.3. But rather offering a cheaper extra motor option with the 6.8. Always good to have options
@Scroll_Lock
@Scroll_Lock 8 дней назад
I wonder how many miles you can get out of the 7.3 Godzilla vs 6.7 PowerStroke? I've heard from many folks that the issue with diesels is that people drive short trips with them and never heat up all that aftertreatment system. They're supposed to be pretty good if you just get them out on the highway and drive/work them as intended. Would it be worth it to rebuild/swap a new 7.3 into a high mileage truck while getting worse fuel economy vs just dealing with the diesel, especially if you intend to put a lot of miles on the truck? A 100k and 200k cost comparison between both platforms would be nice data to see.
@Jason-Samko
@Jason-Samko 8 дней назад
@Scroll_Lock yep the af6er treatment systems are the downfall of diesels today. With for not only do you save 10k buying the 7.3 you can also get a brand new crate 7.3 for 10k installed if you even need to replace it

@1FiftyOverland i have owned every f150 with each current motor. If I'm gonna sell it before 150k miles I want the 3.5. If I'm gonna try and stretch it to 200k plus I want the coyote

@Jason-Samko As someone who worked on Fords for 14 years. The 2.7 is the best.beat. That's why I got one in 2015, and it is still going strong.

I still don't understand why they relegated the 6.8 to the XL. Should have at least been standard in the XLT. Also, agrees about gas vs diesel. I have three mechanics iny family, two cousins and an uncle. The latter is a retired mechanic, did it for 36 years. One cousin has been at it for 15, and the other for almsot 30. Between the three of them, they have seen every type of vehicle from every brand in existence (and plenty that don't exist anymore). Even some electric vehicles like the Bolt and the Leaf. All three of them have told me they would never own a modern diesel.
