Yah, I’m on my 2nd UX here in Central Ontario. First was a 2021 FSport2 Silver/red, and now a 2024-same model & colour. I very rarely turn on the ASC. But I always run in Sport mode for better throttle/steering response (except in winter weather). Keep up the good videos!

Lexus upgraded the UX continiously the last years, it is a small but extremly comfortable and well build car, fit and finish way better than ' premium' German rivals. And this car is build in Japan!!!!

I’m on my second UX and it is one of my favorite cars I’ve ever had. If you don’t need something too big, this is definitely a great option. amazing fuel economy, smooth and comfortable ride. Also obviously insanely reliable..

I’m about to purchase my fifth Lexus. I custom ordered the UX when it first came out, getting every available feature in the US. Then COVID hit, and when the NX was redesigned, there was a year-long waiting list. I ended up buying out my lease for it, and I love it. It’s easy to park, nimble, and has a great weight ratio. It still runs on regular unleaded fuel, unlike most other Lexuses, except for the NX 250. I usually spend about $40 to fill the tank, which gets me around 320 miles. In Los Angeles traffic, I average 55 miles per gallon. I replaced the run-flat tires because they were so loud. I would get this car again just for the improved navigation screen. I’ve made some modifications since buying it, including lowering it, adding performance tires, and installing ambient lighting. However, I’m considering moving to the 2025 NX 450+, even though it’s almost $70k, which is wild. The plug-in finally has a panoramic roof. If the UX had a panoramic roof, better suspension, and improved 19” tires, I would buy it again.

I'm the sole occupant and it's perfect sized for me. Like my former Mazda3's. Japan built, plush interior. All the bells & whilstles, done up Lexus style. I'm liking my first hybrid non-plug-in as plug-in would be a pain at our 280 unit apartment complex, which only has 3 plug-in stations. Lexus was very smart in staying away from total EVs. Non-plug hybrids is the way to go. Reply

I just bought the UX 300h F Sport Handling and it fits my solo-use, handling requirements, and personality. I've had 2 Mazda CX-5's back-to-back, similar to the Lexus NX you prefer, but I do NOT need or want the extra space, footbprint, or HP as my driving is 95%

I look for performance in a sports car, or even a sporty sedan. But when it comes to a SUV/CUV, fast acceleration and razor sharp handling (the handling is really good, actually) are not what I want or need. To me, it's a daily driver/commuter car. MPG and comfort for one, or two people is what l desire. Our 2020 UX is perfect at what we bought it for. If l want speed and handling, I'll get a Mustang GT for the same price. But that's not the mission l need every day. The only things we have in the back seat are cobwebs.

For $40,000, even if you can't get a Prius or Prius Prime, you can get a fully loaded Camry or RAV4 Hybrid. I understanding wanting the Lexus badge and dealer experience, but I think the UX has too many compromises for it's price. I think the average buyer would be way more satisfied with a 2025 XLE Camry or RAV4 Limited Hybrid over the long term, as they would be able to "grow" into the vehicle. One lifestyle change with UX, and they will be back at the dealer in a year or two to get an NX or RX. The UX, in my opinion, is for a very specific buyer: They make good money but live in a very dense city where parking is scarce, but they REALLY want something nicer that is still manageable/small in footprint.

You hit the nail on the head with the last part of your comment. We have the new Prius Prime and despite the fancy gadgets, I prefer the 2019 UX. The Prius is noisy on long drives and harder to get in and out of. The Prius stinks of plastic and the ventilated seats (also plastic) don't work so well, as Kirk stated. Sweaty butt syndrome. The Prius is a tighter drive than the 2019 UX, and the torque is fun too. I don't think the UX is compromised - I think it is built for a specific market group, with specific needs. For that group, it is perfect.

I like the little pebble grain shifter and matching steering wheel. Love the Japanese production - the standard of Quality IMO. Getting used to my first non-plug hybrid - a fun learning experience for a 79 year old. Great Lexus quality - the Big L in a smaller, personal new gen electronic without the plug-in hastle which is totally impractical for us apartment people.

Actually kirk, as someone who works for lexus, on some models, when in apple carplay, there is a dedicated bar to access the cars features really easily and quick. Idk if it was an update or new software but it’s there. And if you don’t want the bar there, you can expand the apple carplay screen to full size. I’ve seen it available on all screens whether it’s the smaller base screens or the bigger ones.

sorry man, thumbs down, u left it in eco mode because of the fake engine sound and didn't realize you can turn it off! Also there's a lot of other higher end sports cars that have that silly sound as well, so shouldn't knock the UX for that. I do agree, get rid of that ASC all together and put something useful in it's place.

Me too and I was returning customer so I got into a really cheap lease and they offered to custom order mine but it took four months but I got every option available in the US. It just sucks because later on I found out that like Canada has the triple beam headlights and a 360 camera option and those little vents that light up And I was like why don’t we get that is an option it seems to me that Toyota is no longer interested in the US market because as Kirkside a lot of the Toyota products are like far outpacing the features I mean the fact that there’s that panoramic sunroof on the Denzel, which is what 42,000 although it’s continued a roughly around 35,000 now it has a panoramic roof And the cool big it is you can make it darker white. None of the other Lexus is even had that is an option that was like what the fuck are you guys right now? Really concerned about this plug-in because it is 70 K it’s like a $900 car payment and I feel like that’s really crazy, so thinking about buying it and trading it. It comes in around 45 like almost return but these prices just don’t make sense for what I see and BMW and you know Mercedes and like their hybrids are actually performance space you get more performance out of their hybrid the gas is not great, but like I wish Lexis would develop that in mine with a hybrid, make a little bit more performance or make the sports performance

We have 0W-8 engine oil now? Often see 0W-20 and 5W-30 nowadays, and sometimes 0W-16. I assume we would see 0W-4 and 0W-2 very soon? Guess you have to pay premium price for the 0W-8 since it is not as commonly used across different ICE brands and platforms.

Bought the 2024 UX 250h last year which was an upgrade from a Mazda CX-30. So far, I prefer the fuel economy and similar engine performance, but I miss some things from the Mazda such as having the doors lock automatically when I'm out of range and BSM sound alerts. As for problems I've experienced so far, sometimes the traction control light turns on when I hit a pothole and the audio skips or drops with Android Auto. The ventilated seats aren't that great either. Compared to the 2025 model, I prefer the traditional gear shift.

Kirk, I believe the UX is the most expensive model built on the TNGA-C platform. From the day the UX made its debut, I have been calling for a premium powertrain to match the premium price. Borrowing a powertrain from the Corolla Cross and Prius is not sufficient. In the future, it would be nice if Lexus borrowed the extended wheelbase from the Prius (108.3" vs 103.9") to add some desperately needed rear legroom. In short (pun intended) the UX comes nowhere near justifying its ridiculously inflated price. 🤨 Now that we have seen how long the TNGA-C platform can be stretched, I call upon Toyota to build EVERY TNGA-C model with enough space to comfortably accommodate adult rear seat passengers!!
