I can’t believe they didn’t put this rifle in BFV with the last chapter, I didn’t even know someone had the audacity to make a semi auto anti tank rifle.
@@ivan5604 we're talking about a country that made the bomb lance and at one point designed a super super battleship. them making a 20mm semi auto anti tank gun feels like just the right type of crazy for them.
@@ivan5604hile a 20mm is unusual for a man-portable weapon, the Russians mass-produced the PTRS 41 in 14.5x114 and that was semi auto, along with the PTRD which was effectively a breech-loader in the same caliber. So many of these were made that they’ve still seen use in the war in Ukraine, as they’re effective enough against most soviet APCs and IFVs. Finland did also produce a semi-auto 20mm AT rifle too, and it made ~1900 as opposed to the ~1100 Type 97s the Japanese made.
@@randomstuff4997 first off, this what I said is a meme in reference to a video game. Second, don't write run-on sentences as they are too long to read properly. And to top it off, if you don't have anything good to say, it's best to say nothing at all.
If you wanna see the strongest and most effective Japanese anti-tank gunner whose job is his passion, look at 0:33, that Guy lifted 55kg rifle with one hand, that is just amazing.
When the Pacific War came out, and all the people who bought the LVTs literally got shat on with this gun. I kept one shotting them with the AT rifle. Was one of the greatest new campaign experiences I had with the Jappies
Historically the reason why it wasn't mass produced is because of how big it was and parts needed to make it function. Not to mention the amo shortage since it used 20mm rounds this amo type was mostly used for aircraft and ship AA guns. So the Japanese mostly used traps and mines for dealing with tanks. Of course the gun was used but it's not very common.
I like to use all anti-tank rifles like the german Panzerbüchse, russian PTRD, but the fact that this is semi-auto and most of the vechicles have light armour, makes this gun super fun
Thats whats so unique about pacific theater Most of the land vehicles are light armor because the majority of the battlefield there are beaches, water, and air Heavy vehicles will easily got stuck or submerged into the sands or swamps Even the Japanese "heavy tank" has the same type of armor as Sherman Tank Thats why Anti-tank rifle is still viable in that theater
I stopped playing cause I got hell let loose, but I remember a reason was that every light tank was just being destroyed ny the heavy machine guns every single match.
Yep, the if they used the original size they would need to use two people to carry it. Also weights 52 kilograms, so it is pretty hefty just to swing around that easily.
Love this rifle. The bane of every M13. Ive also discovered a weak point on all M13s. Theres an ammo can for the 50 cals in the right rear (left most if your looking at it from the front) corner of the truck bed. If you hit that with the right rounds the truck will explode almost every time with one shot. Works with tanks as well so long as you have the angle.
Unlocking this rifle and gaining the ability to finally fuck up M13s and their fucking quad 50s was the greatest feeling Ive had in Enlisted. Retribution was served.
@@mikeymike9926 Oh hell yeah man. Things were a nightmare. Can still killem pretty easy with flanks and bayonets/fire. Shame they nerfed 50s across the board because of it though.
That one Japanese soldier saying: TIAN NO HAI KA, BANZAI! (long live the emperor) *PROCEEDS TO LIFE AND FIRE A AUTO CANNON SO POWERFUL THE RECOIL COULD LITERALLY TEAR HIS ARM OFF*
I don't play enlisted, but thank you for this insightful video, I love the Type-97 auto cannon, one of my favorite anti-tank rifles that doesn't get as much love as it should ^^ (Also did not know that the rails go back like that with each shot 0x0) Also, nitpick i know, but I hope they add that shield.
At the level of campaign where most rifles are bolt actions that thing is mega OP. It’s a semi auto anti everything, it makes more sense even to use it as an anti infantry
Does anyone find it a little funny the guy doesn't flinch at all when laying prone with the rifle. Meanwhile in our world you would still shake a little when firing prone.
Yeah this is the best gun in the game its an anti everything rifle kills tanks, planes and the best sniper rifle in the game it can penetrate multiple soilders i once make a triple with one shot because its penetrate the body... its powerfull....
Thinking what would happen, if they would grab a German MG131 , one of the shortest heavy mg , carrying only 16,6 kg , shooting 13x64 mmB amunition. Similar to shooting 50. Cal. With rate of fire 900. Imagine destroying planes, and sneaking behind tanks to destroy him with that . :D
Reminds me of the 20mm nitrous bolt action rifle that the Reformed Demonic Legion used in The Salvation War. They also fixed an over one foot long bayonet on it and used it in melee, but that is to be expected as they are wielded by 3 meters tall demons that can outrun a horse, bust through brick walls and tank an entire magazine of M4 carbine before ripping the US marine who foolishly shoot him at point blanks to pieces . Oh, those guys are the the smalless and physically weakest of the Demonic ground forces.
Can this gun penetrate the main armor of the M3 in real combat? I don't believe it. It could not penetrate even the paper-thin armor of the Soviet BT-7 during the Battle of khalkhin gol.
1:37 Welcome to WarThunder game mechanics red engine, red turret ring, they are tad bit of slow but works perfectly fine, what happened to them, it's too complicated to explain but they are just "red" angry probably.
