I was going to talk about the nineteenth-century Gothic Revival movement but the more I thought about the word "Gothic" the more my thoughts expanded to cover a wide range of positive and negative meanings. So I have expanded the talk to cover the history of Gothic art and architecture from Gothic cathedrals to Black Sabbath.

Sometimes the RU-vid algorithm works. I’m delighted that this showed up in my recommendations and I’m now subscribed. Forty years ago I studied a bit of art history from Robert Winters who specialized in the history of Arts & Crafts movement and its various manifestations. I’m liking forward to the video on that topic, but I’m enjoying this video very much as a table setter for that video.
