Another useful tip is to create mixer presets or even better use a prepared mixer for your project presets. It maybe takes a while to plan how you want to set up, color code and rename everything, but after that you are much faster starting with a new project or going back to an old project as everything is at its place and ready to go!
Another great way to get extra (unlimited) effect slots in the mixer is to use Patcher. But I understand why you may not have mentioned it. Patcher can be intimidating for starters. Another great video my friend.
Thx navie this was so helpful...I'm still working on finding my sound. My beats are do, mix ok, working on mastering, but I'm all over the place with my beats lol.
Very useful video my friend. Learned a lot of new tips and things i didnt even know about. I have one question though which i havent seen anybody make a video on. When i finish recording my vocals on fl studio and go to the mixer to apply effects to my vocals, the effects dont apply to my recorded vocals and i dont see volume levels on the insert when hearing my recorded vocals, only on the master channel. How do i fix this issue?
Just subscribed bro. Awesome tutorial. I have more than 5 years of experience in FL Studio so to me It didn't help a lot. But still very good tutorial straight to the point. Question could you make a more advanced tutorial?
If you are coming from another DAW or from hardware, then you might prefer Patcher to make longer effect chains instead of routing in the mixer. It's closer to routing cables from input to effects to output and might be cleaner looking for what you want to do.
Thank you mane! I really appreciate the tips and your work ethic! Keep going bro! And sweet dreams by joey bada$$ was 🔥🔥🔥 trying to be like you one day
Navie D. Well I appreciate all the effort and hard work you put into your videos and music! It was also a pleasure to sit in a few weeks back for the beat review u called me in the very beginning but by the end so many new beats were entered via the keyword in discord that alas I didn’t get to hear how I would consider “You Navie” an overall expert artisan and purveyor of good beat structure and melodies, really every aspect of studio production techniques in general to see what you may have had to say, I was really curious as a newer producer been at for several months although bedroom djing for last 10 years which helps me in many ways . Sorry for such a long response it’s just great 👍 to be able to talk to someone whom I respect so much 🙏💯☝️
@@NavieD You're welcome! I just hope people who speak english as a mother tongue don't get it wrong. My Name is Simon and thats how the english pronounciation would be written in German. But I guess one could think of something else I definitely don't mean haha
Great video. And don't forget, Patcher can allow you to add way more than 10 FX to an insert. I'm not sure there even is a limit (besides CPU) when using Patcher.
Nav, good evening. Again, thanks for the vid. Yo, we are anxiously waiting for a video on how to organize favorites list for both effects and plugins. I am a Pro Tools user so whenever I don’t see something, I have to call out the community for it. I go crazy when I want to add a particular effect and they are simply not organized the way I want them to. I know there is way, im just still a bit confused as to how I can organize them. For example: tree view > compressors > Blah blah blah EQ > blah blah So on and so forth
I watched this until the end and it was so helpful!! thank you :) btw, i just got one question from your video. At 10:00, there are red lines crossed at the beginning and end of the audio wave file on sampler. How do you get rid of the red lines now that I want to utilized the entire audio sample not the section within those lines. Thank you again and always appreciating your content!
Is there a way to have an audio source affect another one without being heard? I want to distort my hi hats and snare using a sub bass and distortion/compression but I do not want the sub bass to be heard at all. I’ve been looking for a way to do this for like a week now :(
I gotta say man , when I have a question , your channel is my first stop . Thus far , you’re in my top 3 . Not that my opinion means anything to anyone other than myself but just know that to me , Top 3 is a VERY high standing . I appreciate everything you do / teach / share for us . Respect 🫡
How do you turn off that orange CLOCK under each switch in the mixer...For me when i turn it on my song marker starts properly but the song is laggin behind...and when i turn off the switch in lets say mixer 16 my song now in time with the song marker when i press space bar...any idea why this is? With it on it does not sound choppy or crackly like what the buffer would be if its not raised up correctly to play the song smooth....everything works fine..Thanx any help would be great...
@@NavieD because he represents me in a way but mostly its coz of the name, my real name is that heheh plus i love the game a lot it useed to be my favorite Nintendo game
That's an old and probably a never-ending debate. It seems that older heads who were used to have a rather limmited sampling time tend to do the drums first, while younger people with a daw / modern sampler background tend to start with the sample first. If you find a great sample I would start using that. If you haven't a great sample available you could start with the drums and add different short samples, snippets and texture afterwards.
Hey man.. I have a problem. When I select an effect for an audio track, it's not getting selected. I click at the arrow, click eq, and nothing happens. How do I fix this
@@NavieD how to find or design a transition fx that would fit the vibe of the track. transition fx can nicely lead a listener from part a to part b, without it the track can seem boring and sharp
nice video! I got a question about exporting my stems.. When I export my stems, every stem that is exported, the wav file is the size of the beat itself...which in my case is 60mb...so for example I have a single snare hit on channel 1 track 1. When I export that, the wav file is 60mb.. same as the melody and every other track in the beat...any way to fix this? cause when I export all 50 of my tracks at 60mb each, it comes up to about 3gigs...Thanks!
Yeah I believe the size of your file is dependent more on the length of the audio rather than how much is going on in it. Not sure if there is any way to get around that
Hello...Would you do a video in the future explaining the way pros use Fl studio...all the shortcuts...all the litlle tit bits and all the things that most of the ppl dont know...itll help a lot man...♡
Hey so I have a problem. Whenever I put a vsts or even a mic to record on the mixer, it starts to fade out for no apparent reason. Like the volume goes up and down
