#22 Sailing Washington ~ Coast to Coast (SV Sundowner)

We leave the Snoqualmie National Forest (45 miles east of Seattle, WA) and head towards Tacoma Washington to meet up with fellow sailor bloggers, Mike and Melissa from "Little Cunning Plan" (link below). They show us their new boat, SV Galapagos, a 1970's era 47' Olympic Adventure (Ted Brewer design) built in Greece and sailed half way around the world to Washington.
We also get invited to go sailing aboard SV Blue Moon, a 1980 C&C 40' sailboat for a race on Commencement Bay Washington. The race was cancelled due to little wind but we motored out a bit until we found the wind and went for a pleasure sail. The video concludes with us making our to Port Angeles on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington.

Hey kids! Long time no. Sorry I've been behind on watching. Phillip and I just returned from our BIG adventure and we're just getting our heads screwed on straight. Looks like you guys are having fun in Washington! Neat to meet up with old cruising buddies as well. Favorite line from this video: "If it's hot, it's hot." Nice. Enjoyed this one. You guys keep it up!

HEY!! Can't wait to catch up with you. We are still out in the wild places with limited bandwidth so we'll have to catch up with your videos when we get back to the "mainland". We are headed back to Panama in October hopefully. Hope you had a freaking AMAZING time crossing the Atlantic! Knowing you it was a riot!

No worries. I can give you a quick summary to spare you the watch time: We did a bazillion boat projects, we raised the new rig and we crossed the ocean! Done. It was an awesome, awesome trip. Challenging and rewarding. We're excited to get out this winter and head south. Hopefully we'll see you kids on the water 2017! Take care. Travel on!

Love that area. Pulled a travel trailer down from Washington, along Highway 101 many years ago. A girlfriend and I. Was a great trip! Drive it all the way down south to Highway 1 and through to Southern California. Great Drive!

This area was so pretty! Hwy 101 is quite the road with an RV...very winding and hilly. We had to go pretty slow and let people pass often. How long did it take you drive ALLL that way down?!

Ouch! That was sure a hard cut between bringing Blue Moon into the slip and pulling out the gate in the RV! A quick tantalizing taste of the salt, then *whoops!* back on the road again. I'll bet it felt the same in real life to you two as it did to me in the video! lol!

Greetings from the Elmer's Candy factory. It's always fun sailing on someone else's boat, where you can be rail meat or a deck poodle and enjoy the sail. Just keep you head down for the tacks and jibes.

Hi! Are you from Elmer's in Hammond?? I grew up in Ponchatoula. Sailing is lotsa fun on others boats but also our own. With this many people our jobs are easy.

I live a stone's throw away, close to Ponchatoula City limits. I had a 22' Chrysler on a trailer parked in the yard for a long time that I used to cruise around Lake Pontchartrain and the Gulf Coast. I raced sailboats on Lake Pontchartrain and along the Gulf coast between 1982 & Katrina. We mostly sailed a yellow 22' Lindenburg named Hot Mustard with the Corinthian Sailing Assoc. and NOYC. We probably would have crossed paths except for age differences. However, I'm sure we have mutual friends or associates. It's a small town and the same families have been around forever.

I hope you get to hit up the San Juan Islands??? Either by boat or motorcycle, they shouldn't be missed.

There are SO many things in the country that shouldn't be missed unfortunately, it would take YEARS to see it all! Washington was one of my favorite states though:)
