Glad they gave you a catheter you could go home with and drain at home, definitely better than repeated hospital visits and better for quality of life.

Good that the hospital could help with the fluid drain. The relief for you must have been immense. The fitted tube to enable you to do home drainage is definitely what was needed. You need this constant drainage to get you through this period. You are doing well to be home. Hopefully the oxygen can be reduced to just evening time. It's still crap weather here but I force myself out on the bike as often as I can. There's a heated salt water outdoor swimming pool nearby which I have been to even on the wet and cold days. It was built in the 1930s and is a charity run venue now, with community fund raising throughout the year to keep it operational for the summer months. There's a cafe and lots of seating space inside the high perimeter wall, which means there is a bit of shelter from the cool winds. Sending you hugs from Scotland.

My father is on his 3rd pacemaker. He now has fluid build up on his left lung lower lob. He has had it drained.. not on oxygen. He is a navy man and is like wtf. This isn't going to be the way i go oh hella NO!!!!! I wish it is what you need to keep hanging on. It can clear up if it's not to intense. I'm sending healing thoughts & contentment, moving you forward on your journey of this life's shity complications that are being thrown your way! May it work out the way you choose and with dignity. 😊 My youngest sister has 4th stage metastatic breast cancer, bone,lung,brain,breast,liver, on a feeding tube been there since October 2023 to get food. Tubes are good 😊❤

You look like you are breathing much better compared to last week. I help do thoracentesis and PleurX catheter insertions all the time and I think you made a good choice to get it.

Can't imagine what that must feel like. Sure hoping that tube will come back out following improved lung functioning, and balance can find its way into your life once again. I'm doing a lot of unanticipated soul-searching because of what I see you going through (and I know we are seeing only a tiny bit of your situation) - you make me want to leave no stone uncovered in fully connecting with my own inner strength. I am sad to see you so breathless but if the tube keeps you comfortable that’s a fair price to pay.
