In India as well, TEHSEEN POONAWALA (a celebritiy), following this OMAD. I am also on a two meals a day plan, first week was the most difficult phase..now cravings are completely dead.

If the first meal is only fruits (at least ten grams of fruits per kg of your body weight) it would be best. You seem to be going good. So, keep going.

I am 84. I take all the meals ie break fast, lunch, dinner and in-between snacks; off course inmoderation. I drink tea/ coffee half a dozen times. But I avoid junk foods and soft drinks; walk 30 minutes after dinner, use staircase. I am fit and fine.

You are very much right doctor, I'm doing intermittent fasting for 5 years and OMAD for 3 years and besides losing 30kg of extra weight and coming down to exact 24.9 BMI, I'm even looking younger than my 10 year old photos! My overall health is like a teenager. Just add this in your lecture that a 3-meal eater will first have to quit snacking between his 3 meals then adapt to 16-8, then 18-6 and then to 20-4 and this is the time when he can graduate to OMAD.
@@sridharsadagopan6103 16-8 means 16 hours of drinking only water, black tea or coffee or green tea, no sugar no sweetner no milk, no juice and eating nothing. You can start these 16 hours after dinner at night and your sleep hours will also count in these 16 hours. When 16hours are completed, start 8-hours of a mindful eating, that is, eating healthy foods like home cooked food, home made green salad with no mayonnaise no pasta and no macroni. Also, eating more protein and less carbs, for example if you eat 2 rotis with daal/grains, eating 1 and a half roti with 2 small chicken pieces or 1 big piece or 2 eggs or fish instead of grains. 8 hours are allowed for eating and tea/coffee with sweetner instead of sugar and some milk then again a 16 hour period of not eating. When this becomes manageable then progress to 18-6 routine, then to 20-4 and then to OMAD one meal a day. Don't worry it is quite manageable. You will notice a drastic change and improvement in your health, you will look younger in a few months time, you will become stronger.

Even 2 meals a day is not bad as long as you take them on time… 1st meal can be around 12 noon and 2nd meal can be around 5-6pm, don’t eat anything after 6pm and you will automatically be in intermittent fasting mode !!

Guys if its difficult to follow OMAD you can do intermittent fasting, keep a short eating window amd long fasting window, like 8:16, 4:20 etc, u can eat everything of course in moderation during eating window, during fasting window keep sipping green tea or celery juice, honey water etc, or plain water with pinch of pink salt works wonders with same effect like OMAD. . But finish the eating window by 5 pm..

I am so happy to know that doctors like are vouching for intermittent fasting and only one meal a day. However two years when the lockdown had just started I went on natural diet healing system which was a combination of fasting and natural food diet consisting of fruits and stewed vegetables and some dry fruits. This I followed for 6 months i eventually had started looking like unwell skinny individual. Under my family and society pressure I had to conform to the norms. But I have stopped enjoying all the benefits that you have mentioned in the video. Now I need some kind of assistance and hand holding to follow the unconventional way of life. Please provide some guidance and a plan of natural food diet. I followed the book written hundred years back by Professor Arnold Ehret.
You can follow onetime diet without any problems. I started fasting on my own. I ate nothing during the day and ate something after 5o clock. Then I had dinner in the night and slept. I kept this diet for more than a year. After that I again changed and started eating only once. In my opinion you shouldn't do it as a torture to the body. Allow body to adjust to the diet. I had diabetes 15 years back. And my diabetes disappeared after following this diet for 2 years. I tested my sugar levels on three consecutive days. The reading were near 85.
I am a South Indian coming from a DEZHISHTA MADHWA BHAHMIN FAMILY. According to our Hindu tradition widows follow the OMAD tradition. I too became a widow during Corona and slowly reduced eating icut down on many foods. If possible by the grace of God I too Must follow this rule of OMAD. Hi, I am a diabetic patient with pre breakfast i.e fasting sugar reading of 180 and post break fast it's 310. But I got in to omad diet i.e one meal a day and the the magic happened. My fasting sugar is 95 and post breakfast it is 137. Morning at 7 a.m. I treat myself as a king and eat what ever I can in a 30 minutes window and fast till next day morning. Believe me this is my most happiest days in life. Many people say that he is struggling and we don't want a life of eating one meal a day, but I always feel eating once a day is pleasure that you cannot explain the benefits, higher is good become a friend with it and hunger gives you the self control and worlds best health use it.

I'm 55 years old. Two meals a day has been the practice of India for several thousand years. Till I was 10 years old this was the practice in joint families. Full meals after 9 am maybe even 10 or 11 am. No breakfast. Light dinner at 7 pm

I am on one meal a day and it really melts fat like magic. Hormonal imbalance is solved and periods are normal. Feeling active and happy. Mood remains good. Sharing some of my experiences I started with 12 hours a day fasting 9 to 9 gradually started postponing first meal by 15 to 30 min and taking last meal liytle earlier. Gradually started with 2 meals a day and now omad. For those who are confused.. just go for ut start slowly body will lead u to omad gradually on its own.
Dr. i too heard many times one meal a day is very good . sir if i divide one meal day into two parts for lunch and dinner what will happen? Only warm water. After Sun set to next day Sunrise No water also. अब मुझे भूख सताती नही , प्यास रात में लगती नही , कोई head ache nahi , कोई Gas problem नही l B P की समस्या चुमंतर हो चुकी हैं l मैं एक भी tablet किसी भी problem की नही लेता क्योंकि अब मुझे कोई health issues नही हैं l ये सब मुमकिन है 100% यदि आप अपने शरीर को इस प्रकार की practice कराओ तो l यदि हम एक निर्णय ले ले की में सिर्फ इतना ही खाऊंगा और इसी समय पर खाऊंगा और ये ये चीजें ही खाऊंगा तो फिर हमारे शरीर को हमारी इच्छा अनुसार surrender होना ही पड़ेगा l शुरुआती दौर में मुझे 5 - 6 दिन कुछ तकलीफे हुई जैसे सरदर्द , उल्टी इत्यादि हुए और कभी कभी भूख ने भी सताया लेकिन जब में surrender नही हुआ तो मेरा शरीर मुझे surrender हो गया l Practice makes man perfect और में इस बात का जीता जागता सबूत हु l Doctor साहब ने बिलकुल सही कहा हैं 100% Fact.

Logically sound video. I have a couple of questions 1. When you say muscle mass will increase - is "one meal a day" applicable for underweight, skinny people too? Don't underweight people need to have more food intake (that is well digested) to increase weight? 2. Are there any guidelines on what should be had in this one meal? How many fruits, vegetables, pulses, grains etc? Thanks!
(1) OMAD is for 30+ people. On one meal a day, a skinny person will start putting on weight, because of the effects of intermittent fasting like autophagy, and better metabolism. A person is skinny not because he's eating less. That's because of poor nutrient absorption by the body. People on OMAD have a very strong and healthy gut and efficient food absorption. (2) Balanced diet. Just for an example, consume 500g fruits at 04:00 PM. After 45 minutes, eat a balanced diet containing roti / Rice with vegetables and daal, some green chutney and some salads. Complete eating by 05:00 PM. Little bit of dessert can also be taken at 05:00 PM.
Very informative and inspiring!👍 We associate food with energy, hence tend to eat frequently. Other mindset is to have lots of fruits, nuts and smoothies. Hence my eating starts at 8am with nuts smoothie, followed by lots of seasonal fruits, lunch around 12 noon and snacks and tea around 5.30pm. So my eating window is from 8am to 6pm. My only doubt is how to squeeze all foods into one hour? Or delete fruits, nuts smoothie etc from my diet. Kindly suggest!🙏
@Gauri Malaviya ji, thank you. One meal a day requires immense psychological strength. Physiologically, the body adjusts to this discipline in 3 days. Squeezing 10 hours into one hour might be difficult instantly but if you give yourself 21 days time in squeezing it, it will not be tough. Afterall, "When going gets tough, the tough gets going".

Shaam ke time 150mL chukandar ka juice sip by sip dheere dheere lena chahiye. Isse reverse ho jayega. Kam se kam 1 mahina lagatar beetroot juice peene se difference pata chalega. One meal a day is not recommended for you. Do this instead. Have 3 meals a day. First meal only fruits as breakfast. Eat lots of fruits. Second meal should be a balanced meal for lunch. The third meal as dinner should be only salads without salt. Lots of salads. Do this for a month and most of your health issues shall vanish.

I saw your video and it is most valueable for every one. I take a 2 meals in a day. 1. in the morning and and 2nd one is around 5:30 to 6:00 PM from last one month. Can I take a one meal now or continue with 2 meals.
You can continue two meals for some more time, like a month or so and then switch to one meal. It would be good to take only fruits for breakfast and a balanced meal in the evening.

Pravin ji, you should not stop medication abruptly because on regular usage, the body gets used to the chemical drugs, especially medicines like sleeping pills. Very informative.....as per ayurveda human should follow 8-8-8 formula, 8 hour eating god made food,8 hour for digestion 8 hr sleeping for better health
I have the same question whether can we drink vegetable juice or water + lemon juice during 23 hrs, fasting. Please guide, it will helpful for other persons who want to improve their health. Thanks for informative video.
