Saigon, Vietnam - Oh wow, this first day in Ho Chi Minh City has been amazing. I really didn’t know what to expect, but we started our day off with an egg coffee and avocado toast from Little HaNoi Egg Coffee. Then we made our way to Cho Ben Thanh or Ben Thanh Market to do some bargain shopping and haggle a bit. I’m not good at haggling, so I was a bit nervous when buying a shirt.
We also heard there was a food court area in the market, so we wanted to try some popular Vietnamese food for the first time in Saigon. I don’t know if the beef pho and spring rolls were the best, but the experience of eating it in Saigon and at Ben Thanh Market made it that more special.
We continued the day with a pedicure at a nearby spa. And as we were finishing up our pedicures, we saw a lot of people standing in line for this restaurant, which turned out to be Banh Mi Huynh Hoa. So, we got a chance to have an authentic banh mi for the first time in Vietnam. Come to find out that this restaurant was very popular. I can see why, as this banh mi has to be my all time favorite. Bánh mì nổi tiếng nhất tại thành phố Hồ Chí Minh là bánh mì Huỳnh Hoa.
This first day was so much fun and we really got a taste of what Saigon has to offer. Can’t wait to travel more and show you all the food adventures we have here in Vietnam.
