i don't think many of these are true. no one hated rita hayworth, ava gardner or ingrid bergman. I also think olivier was described generally as a very decent sort you are conflating issues about many of these people's personal lives with their general likability.

You have to realize, this was old Hollywood. The ones running the studios. They wanted mystery with the actors. Then columnest made up there own stories, or ask the lower co-stars and they said whatever some parts were true.

People are very judge mental and Ingrid Bergman was hated she left the country for a long time because those judgmental people as I'm sure were far worse in their own behavior, were really cruel. The only one I would disagree with is Bette Davis. It was instead Joan Crawford because of her abuse of her children she scorned and hated. I liked them all whether or not people hated them except Joan Crawford and Ava Gardener!

@@user-op1tr4qe9g we used to have social and moral standards in the west and adultery and out wedlock birth were ostracized. There was no way studio heads were going to support this even though most of the were equally immoral. I think she did the right thing not aborting and weathering it out and I somehow suspect she was pressured to abort. Some of the stories such as jeanette mac donald and patricia neal are gut wrenching MacDonald and eddy fought fr years over issue of marriage as he wished her to retire. I think it was mayer who would not for some bizarre reason let them do so Bergman was already married with a child Pia Lindstrom whom she abandoned but that may have been due to her current husband's refusal to allow her to take her. Italy had no divorce at the time and rossellini died in '77 married to his italian wife Ditto sophia loren and ponti.whose story I recall quite clearly Faye Dunaway left Mastroanni who would not allow himself to divorce.

Can't help noticing 'hated' are often just women refusing to conform. Men have to assault someone. Spencer Tracey had 27 year affair (cheating, is what it is), but he isn't hated.

This video would be so much better if you didn't use images/clips of people other than who you're talking about, e.g. Lucille Ball in place of Katherine Hepburn. Also, Clarke Gable was not how you portrayed him (uncaring to his fellow actors). He came out batting for his African American Gone With The Wind co-stars. On the set, they were relegated to using separate bathrooms (from white actors) that were substandard. Gable threatened to quit GWTW if the studio didn't end the practice. He won.

This is interesting that the channel didn't acknowledge that Swanson was also extremely creative. She invented the plastic clothing buttons still used today and extension cords still used today. Nor did this channel acknowledge the assault on Loretta Young by Gable produced a daughter Judy Lewis that Gable ignored forever.🤷🏼‍♀️

My Father worked at Paramount during Taylor's time. He said she was gracious, polite, always on time, and always knew her lines. She treated the Studio Workers with respect and gave a wrap party at the end of the movie.

I watched many of these famous actors and actresses being interviewed on talk shows over the years. There are always two sides to every story. Gossip is always full of half truths and outright lies, especially when it comes to Hollywood and gossip columnists. The Academy Awards isn't always fair and doesn't always give the Oscar to actors or actresses who deserved it for that year. Still, the real test of the public popularity of a film that people watch it today. I never see a Joan Crawford film being played many times on TV as I do a Bette Davis film.

Nowadays it is fairly well known that the Hepburn-Tracy love story is a huge myth. Both of them were gay and the myth was created by the movie studio as a front to protect their careers. Being on the downlow and having to worry about being exposed explains Tracy's lifelong alcoholism.

I think that this is disgusting in a sense because both Clark Gable and Judy Garland should not be on this list for one thing Clark Gable with his support of the black actress Hattie who played on gone with the wind and also Judy Garland who was raped in assaulted buy directors and producers during the time when she played Dorothy in The wizard of Oz it would be understandable why she reacted the way she did.

The story that Hepburn and Tracy were loyal lovers was a total lie, according to an acquaintance of mine who was well known to be the biggest pimp in Hollywood. Read "Full Service" by Scotty Bowers. He says Tracy and Hepburn were both gay, and lived in cottages near to each other on a studio executive's family compound to remain private and function as beards for each other. Scotty claims Hepburn liked young thin girls, and tracy liked innocent looking boys. You can even see a photo of Scotty with Pitt and Aniston in his book.

I grew up admiring most of these people. Most of these actors and actresses were highly patriotic Americans and were owned body and soul by the studios. Studios planted stories and some even married at the direction of studio heads for publicity. I find many lies in this film. At 79, I hate how people deminish secessful people who are no longer to defend them selves. They are no worse than many of todays stars.
