Books are by far the most underrated 'tool' of survival. Knowledge can never be lost on the trail or on the run. Thank you so much for this video.

A great homestead book is "Back to Basics". It's an older book, but has lots of good info about setting up and maintaining a homestead.

My personal favorite outdoor manual is the Handbook for Boys Fifth Edition from the late 1940's. Yes, an older version of the boy scout handbook. I found a vintage copy at the local book store for $10.

I like all of Kephart's books. He did a lot of adventuring around my neck of the woods so it's pretty cool to be in the same area he learned some of this stuff.

I get the more ''story'' type books on Kindle so I can read them when there's a few minutes spare in the day and they've got me through a few illnesses/injuries too. The reference ones I get as books, took out Richard Mabey's, Food For Free (more a north west Europe book) in pocket size yesterday, it takes away a bit of the worry of picking the wrong plant and it adds something to a hike when you identify something new (to you).

I have the the Cody Lundin Book 98.6... The comical characters make stuff easier to remember. I know the basics but a good first aid book is important. A recent book I read was " How to stay alive in the woods" By Bradford Angier.

Maybe look at primitive technologies new book. Or shelters, shacks and shanties if you want shelters. Could also look at early woodworking books.
