Where did you cut the shaft of there is goona be a problem after a year or so water infiltreats in and will kill the bearings inside the power steering just bare in mind how you will seal to avoid that issue
Question? I understand that you have to hook up a Pos , Neg and a Ignition on wire to the ECU. But, what about that other little pigtail that comes off the motor (from the sensor)? Does it have to be hooked up to the ECU to work? The little pigtail that looks like a phone jack.
you only need the "five" wires to the Prius ecu . power from battery negative / positive to ecu power out to motor nutritive/positive and ignition in to the ecu that is powered telling the module when to be active. I am working on the second video to this

It's probably one of the easiest to modify. I think you can use one out of a volt or some kind of Chevy and a few other ones. Sometimes you have to flash the computer though to not be in limp mode
When I talk about sleeving it I just slid it in there a little ways that way there's overlap of the two materials and then ran a bead connecting the two materials
