I'm amazed! This was incredibly well done, largely due to the recovery guys having all the right equipment. In defence of the driver who ended up in the ditch, its very easily done. I've had a verge 'grab me and try to pull me in' when driving an artic. We all occasionally make mistakes, or are some commentators perfect perhaps?
Tough recovery, done without fuss and in a reasonable time. All praise to the recovery guys who clearly know their equipment and, how to use it, Well done ! For the cry babies who criticise, what was the alternative ? Two mobile cranes, 1 at least 80 tonne to cope with the angles and weight of the tractor, and the second crane to cope with the trailer would be at least 60 tonnes to handle the length and angle of jib to lift the trailer. At a reasonable guess at least double the equipment cost against the two wreckers, probably at least double the time and, Sustantially more damage to the tractor unit. The Cab would have been writen off if a crane had been used to lift the tractor, also, there would have been no damage avoided to any other parts when compared to the minimal damage actually done. The complete unit is salvageable and unless there was major damage to the power and drive trane, it is all repairable. Clearly there was no significant damage to any of the drive trane as the was no sign of any oil or fluid leakage. Any leakage would have been obvious due to the stream and fields, and the road surface showing no trace of Oil or Fluid leaks.
On a more serious note: very well done to those lads...very professional, zero damage done to the truck whilst pulling it out,and working as a team....👍
Although this was difficult, they made it look easy. This reminds me of something from my teens. A wrecker service in our small town had a wrecker very much the same size as those shown. The operator affectionately nicknamed it "Mama's little boy". So every time I see one of those huge wreckers, I immediately think "Mama's little boy".
Yeah.. at 10:30 and 13:30 for instance, you see the truck all bent cause their pull is so unevenly balanced between front and back. Also the truck had to be raised /pulled over an angle. It seems it only could have been done better with actual cranes, but using those would have come with several problems on its own. Any other ideas?
This recovery could only be done in this manner with minimal or no load in trailer, if loaded it would have flipped immediately with the absence of strops around trailer superstructure front and rear or both ends right around ends of trailer structure which are the strongest places. Alternative with high or full load would be to remove it, lots of hassle.
Grande porcheria di recupero, trascinarlo in quel modo su dal fosso il camion ha finito di danneggiarsi contro l'asfalto. Doppia porcheria in quanto era scarico e avendo comunque due pseudo gru, che sono i rospi, si poteva imbragare davanti tra cabina e cassone e dietro ai ganci del cassone con le funi che non toccavano il cassone, sollevare pari per poi metterlo in strada. Tirarlo così con una taglia di verricello viene per forza, son capaci tutti. Ripeto, grande porcheria.
Was mir hier auffällt entgegen sonst hier üblichen Gepflogenheiten: Warum sind Firmenbeschrftung und Kennzeichen des verunfallten LKW nicht verpixelt? Gibt das keinen Ärger mit der betroffenen Spedition?

Ja ganz grossen Respekt. Behindert und stört keine Rettungskräfte bei ihrer Arbeit und bildet ordentliche Rettungsgassen. Sie retten Leben und vielleicht auch irgendwann mal deins.
ehrlich, die Rechnung der Bergung würde ich an die zuständige Gemeinde/stadt/land/bund weiterreichen. Schrecklich was die machen, wenn mal einer von den Sesselpfurzern nur 1nen Tag mit solchen LKW auf solchen Straßen fahren müsste nur damit er am Abend das bekommt was er als selbstverständlich sieht, würde er die Straßen 5x so breit machen! Da wird ne Straße neu gemacht, vorher 7-8m + flüssigen übergang in befestigtes bankette, nach der sanierung meist nur noch 6m und haben als besonderen dank beidseitig 15cm hohe Bordsteine.
The truck shows no structural damage to the power unit and the trailer. The owner has to repair some damage, but this truck will work again and probably tow it. it seems that more damage has been done in rescuing him than in the way out that he had
Very tricky road that wants paying close attention. There is literally NOTHING beyond the edge of the asphalt, next to the asphalt (tarmac) it immediately drops all the way down, with only soft soil (and the fact it was wet would have made it even less steady). At the same time the grass on those sides makes it a harder for a diver to see and assess that the sides would offer no support whatsoever AND drop down all the way quickly. If you look as 3:30 you see that a (half) meter or so strip of the surface that is closest to the side, itself also has started to break away because the soft soil underneath can't support it. Truck is a total loss. That being said, I do think the way they did this recovery they damaged the combination even more by starting with only pulling the back section all the way back to horizontal position, they must have twisted the heck out of that frame!
Нет опыта, под не правильным углом встали и тянули. Пустую фуру, двумя эвакуаторами часа два точно тянули переезжая с место на место. Много не нужных движений, и очки нужно было снять чтобы можно было подтянуть ближе... как там по немецки... кирмес!)))
Это точно. Сами себе трудности создали. Обратили внимание какая у них была первая схема зацепа через блоки? Сразу было понятно что не пойдёт. Зацепились бы за "головастика" и по ходу движения, сразу бы вытащили. Наши (российские) таких "канавочников" на раз выдёргивают.
Tip for all cameramen: Also show the rotators/wreckers/tow trucks in order for us to see the line/rop/chain set ups and the number of winches involved in especially the difficult recoveries/salvages.
ze zouden mijn step nog niet uit de berm mogen halen. ze trekken liever de boel kapot dan dat ze voor en achter even op hijsen om de boelweer op de weg te zetten. they not allowed to take my scooter off the roadside. they rather tear things apart than lift the front and back up to put things back on the road.
Вся суть разницы за деньги и бесплатно: за деньги приедут чистые с инструментом, аккуратно зацепят и вытащат, чтоб ничего не сломать(головой думают), а бесплатно - будут дёргать пока либо трос не порвётся и чего-то р@3ъ€6€т, либо раму порвут...
