Agreed. I loved it as a kid. Still love it as a teen. But I am a hardcore Disney fan. Out of all the Disney and Disney Pixar movies, this one is my favourite.
@@juanrisa945 brother bear is the greatest. I don’t care if people don’t like it, because and Disney movie is good in my eyes. (When I say any Disney movie, I am only talking about the animated ones.)
When he said "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" and the crowd cheered like that, the biggest smile came over my face :) glad to hear that this movie holds a special place in other's hearts as well
I truly believe that his work will be recognized one day and it'll be in the biggest way. I'm crossing my fingers that this turns into a musical and he wins all the tony awards :) such great music
i love that menken is salty about the film not receiving an oscar. the hunchback of notre dame is by far his best work and i hate that the oscars didn't really agree by not giving his the famed award.
“If I were in their skin, I’d treasure Every instant out there, Strolling there by the Seine, Taste the morning out there, Like ordinary men…” When Quasi sings about “ordinary men”, that’s when I lose my mind.
The crowd's reaction when he said the title of the film makes me SO HAPPY. So glad to know that there are people out there who scream and cheer for it. It's so underrated and should be loved way more.
Funny how the Disney movie with the greatest soundtrack of all time ( Yes, I said it!) didn’t even get a nomination or award, and I am salty. Alan Menken and Steven Schwartz are geniuses, and they deserve all the awards they received.
I was at the d23 expo in 2017 to see him and I think I remember him mentioning hunchback and the crowd cheered so loud and he was like ‘where were you guys in ‘96?’
I understand you probably are a fan of the Hunchback of Notre Dame is that why you have clopen as your picture if you are I am a big fan of the movie to
“Listen, they’re beautiful, no? So many colours of sound, so many changing moods. But, you know, they don’t ring all by themselves!” “They don’t!?” “No, you silly boy! Up there, high, high in the dark bell tower loves the mysterious bell ringer… who is this creature?” “Who?” “What is he?” “What?” “HUSH! Clopin will tell you: it is a tale, a tale of a man… and a monster!”
“You can lie to yourself and your minions, You can claim that you haven’t a qualm, But you never can run from, nor hide what you’ve done from the eyes, The very eyes of Notre Dame!” “And for one time in his life of power and control, Frollo felt a twinge of fear, for his immortal soul…”
Juan Risa Really? Have you heard him singing on the “Proud of Your Boy” demo like 5 years before HoND, he totally had a young enough voice to do it, it was nearly 30 years ago after all.
Many Disney fans don't know these songs. But these are songs are also very rich and some of his best work. I really think Menken had to compensate for Stephen Schwartz's lyrics somewhat which weren't on the same level as Tim Rice and Ashman, but then whose are. I'm not saying Schwartz is not a great lyricist he's just not not their level.
this stinks. hellfire is not there! OMGWTFRAGERAGERAGERAGE!!!1!!11111!!! joking of course. if i could play HALF of what is here, i would be a happy man.
