I disagree with that tbh. I play multiple pendulum decks including Odd Eyes, ZARC, and Magicians and I brick once in a blue moon. The main reason being is I don’t play 10-15 generic hand traps, I fill those spots with actual deck support and I only ever actually lose when I just get 100% outplayed. So I don’t think pends need any crazy like a hand trap or anything, especially not once the Supreme Gate/Z-arc support comes out in MD

I bet the new decks with Branded. I wasn't Impress with those decks.

Imo branded seems to have a higher ceiling but the new decks strength is having 3+ non engine at the end of your combo.

Wouldn't say it's boring necessarily and piloting them does require a lot more skill than SHS or Lab, but it's tediously long. Rescue ACE and Snake-Eyes have decently long Turn 1s and then sometimes even longer recovery lines in turns 2+. Duels will take longer and longer (as showcased in this tourney), but not for the "good" reason of having more healthy interaction, but just because both sides keep chaining their 37 combos to get back from 0 cards on the field and 1 card in the hand to 9 cards on the field and 4 cards in the hand without doing much to each other. Say what you will about Branded, but the deck is very fast-paced and provides chances for their opponent to outplay rather than just "bam negate, bam negate, bam negate"-spam (so long as it's not the toxic puppet lock... get that crap outta here :D)

As a branded player myself, I agree. That branded player made LOTS of misplays and still reached top 4. That was disgusting and painful to watch. Branded turned from a hard deck that would take you a month to master into the new Tearlments. I used to really love branded.

Limiting Albaz, Opening, and Aluber might be enough, but hitting High Spirits might do a lot too.

Also hit puppet so the lock doesn't happen anymore. Kind of a scummy thing to have in branded when the deck is already really good.

@@andreperry7995 I don’t play it often myself but it’s one of my favorite decks to duel against. Aside from the puppet lock, it rarely outright stops you from playing the game. The lines are always different, and as long as you don’t brick most decent decks can have good back and forth against it. The deck generates a ton of advantage in end phase but I really don’t see how that’s different from how much advantage all the other meta decks generate. How people can hate Branded but cheer on R-Ace setting four cards from deck is beyond me lol

@@Kintaku it's because Branded can make Playa thru the end phase. I summon 3 fusion monsters on the end phase and I plus 4 cards to my hand. Plus u have the graveyard setup too. In one duel I had 9 Interruptions.

Negates, Disruptions are the same thing most of the time tho. But only branded players believe stealing resource to summon a big bodies to OTK them next turn is fair compared to Negates, Only Branded players believe summoning Mirror jade multiple times with the un-targetable Sanctifire dragon is healthier than negate boards, Only Branded players defend Puppet lock. Ban Sanctifire

@@prophetmuhammad3890 I get that, even I said stealing opponents monsters is ridiculous. And I get disruptions. But, going first, putting up a 2400-3200 Apollo, plus trap negates and destroy, not to mention ash, called by and other hand traps. We are kinda trading one bad mechanic to an even worse one. It's basically gg after the setup.

@@prophetmuhammad3890 I'm a branded player and I came from playing heroes. I enjoy the fusion summon mechanic. Have done so since Yu-Gi-Oh forbidden memories. So branded was a blast for me to play. And I loved how you get resources after fusion because often, when you fuse, you commit 3+4 cards and that's it basically. So sometimes, I get why branded is what it is.

It's Yu Gi Oh problem in general of how overwhelmingly strong going first is. When branded goes first it also wins game after all. So infinite Negates vs Infinite disruptions are not so different after all.

@@prophetmuhammad3890 sanctifire may not be as broke if the puppet was banned. I hardly summon the card due to the fact that it cannot be used as a fusion summon material. Also, having to summon mirrorjade multiple times is definitely a issue so perhaps limit mirrorjade to 1. Limiting quem to 1, and ban cards like super poly, but you can't because negate board exist unfortunately. But I agree with what you have said.
