Still a great lesson by peter! Really teached me some things about varietals and proper wines and wine choosing for this price point (especially as a novice like myself). Peter, even though you've mistaken I've still learned a lot from this. So thank you.
I could listen to Peter’s deductive process all day long. It shows how much knowledge he has and more importantly how to apply that knowledge. He is the Sherlock Holmes of blind wine tastings!
I enjoy the blind taste tests and restricted budget shopping at Costco. The amount of knowledge both of you two share is extremely valuable. Thank you for continuing this series.
1:32 Sorry Peter, but I love to see you “suffer” of the “bad” wines because I love the idea that there are MWs like you out there who are willing and able to kick ass of these money-driven, deceiving, horrible winemakers who easily take advantages of people who just honestly want to appreciate the taste of wine... We love ya!
I just subscribed and started watching this channel recently. I had Costco's Kirkland Signature Champagne on two occasions in the past and was rather disappointed by it. This video makes me wonder if they have improved their Champagne quality since 6-7 years ago. I also recently bought the Kirkland Signature 1er Cru Chablis 2019, now I am not sure if that was a wise purchase or not; I guess I will wait a year or two and then find out.
I'd love to see you try some English sparkling wines - not to be confused with "British" wine made from imported grape juice! - but proper English wine made from grapes grown in England.
I love sparkling wine except Prosecco DOC, unless it’s rosé Prosecco. Jay, I have two of the Riedel Champagne glasses and they are great. I use with Franciacorta a lot. I love Franciacorta and drink it more than Champagne, Prosecco, or Cava. You can find it for a great price get amazing sparkling wines with a longer minimum adding requirement. Peter, don’t feel bad, I blind tasted Kendall- Jackson’s cheep Chardonnay and thought it was Sauvignon Blanc in my WSET 3 exam prep. I have one week left before the instructor part of the class is over. Good news is that I don’t need to know what the wine is, I just need to match the exam protector’s notes as close as possible.
Im surprised to learn that you prefer flutes for champagne, as all I’ve ever heard from wine folks is to pour bubbles into larger glasses like white wine glasses or even burgundy glasses.
I prefer white wine glasses. It might not look as good but for me personally the smell and flavour is much better, might also be because my nose is not as good but I would still recommend everyone to at least try it.
