Great combos. I especially like the hand trap one.

I love hand traps. Fighters with a good guard can be dangerous with counterstrikes, peeling the guard takes the risk factor down a notch and doesn't waste too much energy on punching gloves.

That was very nice as a fellow unorthodox stanced striker (although you're probably a thousand times more competent than me in that area) so thanks for solid tips!

Unrelated question Paul, should I get reasonably flexibile before I start training Muay Thai? Didn't realise the big height difference between you and Sean before lol
@PaulBanasiak
@PaulBanasiak 3 года назад
No you shouldn't, I would start training first and compliment it with mobility training, stretching, yoga etc. When I first started, I couldn't even get my hip going on a body kick, let alone high kick. I worked on a more boxing / knee style with low kicks as I opened up the hips. There is no standard for "flexible enough" so it'll only eat at your time, keeping you from practicing the actual skills like technique, timing, conditioning etc. I know of pros that can't properly body kick, but they get it done. Get after it champ and progress, the flexibility will come if you are consistent.

@@PaulBanasiak when are you coming back to LVLUP? The new location is awesome. Also I’ll be glad when everything dies down. I’m looking to do a vacation there sometime next year.

@@antoniobridgeforth2362 I don't plan on coming back to the states anytime soon, too many restrictions and this has been home for years now. If things start to shift back to normal and I book a fight stateside, that'll likely be my next stop there for a few weeks :)!

@@antoniobridgeforth2362 I was taking private lessons for a bit and my restaurant Thai is decent, but now I am both working and training full time which takes priority over basically anything I would "like" to do.
