Hi, Alicia! I just had to come by and see these delicious fluff salads. I love these types of salads. They are so fun and easy, not to mention delicious. I had never seen the last one. That looks so good, especially with the coated pretzels! I need to try that. We have started to do more of a plant base diet. Dishes like these are definitely more of a challenge. But, we have found some great substitutes for the dairy items. Can’t wait to give it a try. I hope you and your family are well. Thank you for this great inspiration. Blessings to you my sweet friend. 🥰❤️🌻
Hi sweet friend! I have missed you and your videos! I can imagine a plant-based diet would be a bit of a challenge but really good for you! I hope you and the family are doing well, blessings to you Michelle!🤗💜🥰
Hi Cheryl, my mom had that same chopper when I was growing up so I was excited to find mine at an antique store a couple of years ago💛 Thanks for watching!
I also grew up in the 60's and 70's and I remember all of these great desserts and my adult children enjoy them too...they always ask me to fix the Watergate salad at family gatherings and holidays
Good morning, Ruth🌞 Aren't fluffs great?! I'm glad your kids enjoy them too. They definitely remind me of my childhood which is one of the reasons I love them💕
Hi, Alicia! These 3 salads look great. I like that you used fresh pineapple instead of canned. I saw your comment on my recent cake, so I know you agree about the flavor. I think some larger chunks of pineapple in the pistachio salad is nice. I think that the sweet and salty combo in the pretzel salad would be delicious. I am not surprised that you really like that one. Thanks for sharing!
Fresh pineapple is best I think! Making crushed is a bit tricky though, like I commented on your video. I just do the best I can! Lol Thanks for watching, my friend and Happy Monday!
I didn't grow up eating these. Not sure if it's because where I am in Atlantic Canada, maybe it wasn't a big thing, or if my family just didn't make them. I have had them since starting on WW. I love them. My one negative is that it makes so much and we never get through it without losing some, so I'm going to try making almost individual servings in the future. As for canned fruit, I was told a few years back, if it's canned in water or juice without added sugar and you drain it that it doesn't have points. Not sure how accurate that is but I don't count points as long as I drain the fruit.
I think they are a Midwestern thing here in the US. Not sure though since I grew up in the West. They do make a lot, I usually make them when I have company or on the weekend when I don't really count points. I wondered that about the canned fruit that's canned in fruit juice. You would think draining it would make it zero points. They do have some that is canned using monkfruit which would be zero points but I have a hard time finding those.
Do you think there is any substitution for the pineapple in the Watergate salad? I'm allergic, but really want to try this. Side note: I love the vintage pyrex. I use mine on a daily basis.
Hi Amanda, you could sub with mandarin oranges (try to look for the ones canned with Monk fruit if you don't want extra points or canned in juice for low points), cut up apples or grapes, whatever fruit you like! These salads are all super versatile which is one of the reasons I love them! Pyrex is the best, I am always on the lookout for more to add to my collection!
