My husband's family has ties to the Poltergeist movie. His dad owned the Atlas movie truck and company that was in the moving scene twords the end of the movie. He has pictures of him as a kid running around the set with his dad. It is a special memory for him when he thinks of is dad.
Along with the house address number change, the new owners also had the facade remodeled and repainted different colors to get rid of the “window eyes” because of the steady stream of tourists coming onto the property to snoop and take pictures

I have to watch that movie. The first one mentioned. I’m a coward. I grew up in a house as a kid, I could not stay in the basement or upstairs by myself. I’ve lived in haunted places before which is why stuff like that freaks me out. I love the premise of this channel. I watched all of your videos, I do need to catch up on the podcasts tho. I always thought Ed and Lorraine Warren are full of it. There is always the possibility that there are strange things happening to some of these people, but never to the degree that helped sell the books and movies.
I don't think it started out that way. I feel that Lorraine did have "some" abilities, but they then realized they could make money and become famous. Especially with the heavy interest in the paranormal field with the Exorcist. The Exorcist was released in 1973. The Defeo murders were a year later.
Poltergeist was my first horror movie, when I was 5 or 6! It's had a special place in my heart since then but, I had no idea it had an origin story. Thanks!!! Love your channels.
I always thought they referenced the Black Hope Curse, subdivisions built on a Black cemetery outside of Houston, TX. Never heard of the Herman’s either.

I have a 2 documentary DVD "double feature" (on Amazon) which Covers the Connecticut House and also a haunting in Georgia. "A Haunting in Connecticut" (and for me was far more frightening than the movie) and "A Haunting in Georgia" which was even scarier. They're worth watching.
Who the hell has doors in their house weighing 250 lbs? That seems like an extreme exaggeration... I'm a contractor, and I don't think I've ever seen a solid door that weighs even close to 250 lbs, and I do a lot of historical restorations. 150 lb door, maybe, but anything else requires a little more explaination
In my building an Old ink mill has these giant fire doors on tracks and rollers the way the fire doors operate is primitive but effective there is a stressed cable with a led connector the led melts at a low temp when melted the door slides down the track and seals that room off from fire . I'm unsure about a 250 lb door in that residence but certainly seen pocket doors that I'm sure exceed the mentioned 250 lbs . Have a Great day I hope All is well with you 🙏 .

I came across this channel only a few weeks ago and I've become a fan of the content. I appreciate that the topics are presented with the (assuming) known facts of events, etc. without speculating on whether or not there is an actual paranormal reason/presence, etc. involved. This is a productive, intelligent and compelling way to present these types of topics.
You should do a video on the haunted places in Nova Scotia! One being the Lunenburg Academy, in Lunenburg NS on top of Gallow's Hill. It's surrounded by a cemetery that has been used since the 1700s. Many ghost sightings in the town especially in the Academy. Even working there last year I found it creepy

my house is haunted. when I was 5, I was waving around a belt in a dark room at night (don't ask me why...) and when I got back into a lit room, the belt had tied itself into a perfect bow. when i was roughly 10 years old I heard a disembodied voice call my name from under the kitchen table, in the middle of the night, while I was getting a midnight snack. around the same time, I woke up one morning with what looked like dry blood all over both of my hands... the bedsheets were clean, though and I simply washed it off. a few years later, a draw string lamp turned on by itself. when it turned on, I heard the clicking noise it makes, when you pull the string. when I was about 25, I had an episode of about 3 month, were I was terrorized by a dark entity at night... like sleep paralysis but it was real... (you have to experience this yourself, to understand it is not just a dream). just a few years ago, a picture of my dead cat (in the picture it's of course still alive) fell from the wall, while I was at work... the picture could have not just lifted itself up from the nail, no strong wind could do that and there was surely no earthquake that day. sometimes drawers open themselves, while I am at work but I guess it is just my new cat that opens them... though I have never seen him being interested in the drawers, ever. but most of the time it is pretty boring in this house ;-)
So the family who owned the Amityville house had zero right to sue George and Kathy, because they knew FULL WELL what had happened. Just because ONE family experiences things, doesn't mean the next one will.
i have an old book called SCARY STORIES.. and one chapter (its from the 1980s) states that the book is like campfire stories, fiction, however one story is true. It involves a home and a family were poltergeist activity is happening. I will come back later and write what it says...its interesting too...basically it says their para psychology group from a university theorized the activity is caused by the adolescents or young children. They said there was a connection to poltergeist hauntings where its always children living in the home and they are about to go thru puberty or are going thru it... they get older or move the activity does stop...its an interesting read.
I believe you're talking about the Enfield poltergeist in England where I'm from. I was obsessed with poltergeists as a 9 year old and I'd buy books from second hand shops, the unexplained mysteries type books, to scare myself with lol. Although a lot of the activity in that house was documented and "real", it was shown that Janet, the epicentre of the activity, was definitely embellishing some of it.
What caused the house in Georgetown, DC (The Exorcist) to be excluded? By the way, when I went to see it (very high fence) those stairs leading down (where the priest fell) is a long way.
@@hhangiehh the exorcist yes was fiction but when it came out there were strange occurrences... partly based on a possession of a boy... but in the making of exorcist they said there really was a scary priest death involving stairs... but i don't think it happened in the place used in the movie

I don't understand why the couple who bought the Amityville house after the book came out could possibly sue because of the people showing up to the house to see the supernatural stuff. They would have known it was that house beforehand, yet they still bought the house. That's on them, not the previous family.
Late to the party here, but the Poltergeist move matches very closely to an episode of The Twilight Zone where a little girl disappears and can be heard in the walls of the house. It's been a minute since I've seen it but the similarities are not inconsequential.
This is hte best one you've done yet on this channel. I liked how you covered both sides - those that beleive and the skeptics. I'd love to see more of that balanced treatment as I hover in between those two sides. Sometimes I take it seriously; sometimes I don't. I'm an atheist who has had paranormal experiences but doesn't talk openly because I can't prove them and I understand the demand for proof. I demand it myself. Not sure on the other two and am skeptical but Amityville I flat out don't beleive and think they did it just to make money, chose a house where a horrible murder spree took place because if you're going to run a con job like that what would you pick - not to mention that brought the price down. Loved your coverage on this one. I never took the movie Poltergeist seriously. Laughed at it but I see the story of the house is quite different from the movie so I'm mere eh, maybe, maybe not. I'm inclined to think the son might be on to something in his conclusion about radio waves. I was also eh maybe, maybe not on the Hauniting in Connecticut. Now I hear the landlord's side, skepticism grows. Though I'm mindful he does have the goal of wanting to rent the house so he is biased. Guess I'm still at maybe, maybe not on that one though I don't think morgue always equals hauntings.
Poltergeist still freaks me out, I do believe in spirits. To an extent. My faith has tanked, I consider myself Christian. Nothing wrong with skepticism and questioning things. Another place I love hearing about is Skinwalker ranch.

I can see you appreciate that gift. It's important to examine things from all sides. What's true will stand up to questioning.
You know what else poltergeists are known for? They are known for attaching to a person instead of a place so no matter where that person moves the, poltergeist follows. I believe that to be much of the reason of the reasons why ghosts don't show up when a family moves out, a family that was experiencing Poltergeist activity.

Sort of similar: the original Myers' house in Pasadena, CA. Is thought to be haunted as well. So not only is an unstoppable slasher killer haunting it, so are a few ghosts.
You need better music for those videos. Like with criminally listed. I don’t know why you don’t use the same music. I guess no one would say something. Recommend checking out the silent hill games, Resident Evil 2 and 4 for audio inspiration. You will definitely find something fitting there.
I'm living in a haunted house. Seriously! My mother and I nicknamed her Mary. It's definitely a young woman wearing an old dress. Numerous people have seen her, but the only time that she's active is when small children are living in the house.

Although I DO believe in the paranormal, and have had a myriad of experiences, but I think the Lutz family is FOS. They new exactly what they were doing when they bought that house. I also think Dawn WAS responsible for the murders. She hated her parents, did drugs herself, and had wanted to leave with her boyfriend. There are many actual documentaries on the DeFeos. Its theorized that Ronnie came home, busting her in the act, and killed her.
