If you’ve ever heard someone who broke into a zoo screaming and begging you to shoot the tiger that has his arm in her mouth - you’ll be on Neigel’s side. Best believe that shooting a warning shot to scare an intruder is much more humane than dealing with them afterwards. Especially when they are calling for the tiger to be killed over their stupidity and , if you save them they sue the zoo bc THEY broke in, climbed into the animal’s habitat and stuck out their smelly hotdog fingers wiggling them like bait. I live in Florida - most animal attacks are caused by human stupidity - people keeping them in unsecured and inhumane conditions so they are at risk to attack others or people trespassing where they don’t belong.
Zoo’s have weapons on hand for dealing with animals, they just don’t walk around with them like it’s the wild west. Any idiot that climbs into an animal exhibit gets what they deserve.
Animals cooped up in zoos is a disaster in the making they are still wild and will attack why are people so stupid to risk thier lives to try and pet or hang out in thier closures ?
Houston Zoo is haunted?? WHAT!? Lmfao 😂😂😂 Been going for all 28 years of my life and I've never encountered a thing or even heard of this. Interesting.
I never tire of the fascinating history you present as part of your paranormal stories. I learn so much every time I listen to an episode. Thank you for putting out such quality work.
I’ve been to Lincoln Park Zoo, and Brookfield Park Zoo; they’re both amazing zoos, and they’re enjoyed by all ages. I don’t know IF they still offer this, but they used (might still) offer, for about $5, wax figures of the animals in the zoo. I used to have several of these figures. I had the gorilla, giraffe, tiger, and lion figures. Good times!!
People who argue that zoos are inhumane don’t seem to take into account that life for those animals in the wild is actually horrific. Animals aren’t like people. They adapt to their environment, and don’t hold grudges or pine for freedoms they’ve never had. It’s a lot more comfortable if a life to have food and water regularly delivered without effort than to fight through to survive in the unforgiving wild.
At a young age I went to the Lowry Park zoo in Florida, I thought it was amazing but it did actually dawn on lil tiny me that caging the great animals up was terribly cruel. These animals don’t want to be a sideshow, they want to hunt & breed in nature.
I have always had a problem with zoos. There are very intelligent animals locked in cakes and enclosure with nothing to think about. In the wild just living day to day would stimulate their minds, especially predators but also preys animals in avoiding that, No wonder a bear will on day attack his handler, He wanted to use his natural instincts. It is just wrong on so many levels. I know that some animals are rescued and cant go back to the wild. But I believe they belong in big reserves, where their life is more natural, and they can interact with one another.
I used to wonder if animals came back as ghosts until I had a cat pass and would see a shadow cat going up and down my hallway. I don't see him very often anymore but it felt comforting to know he wanted to stay near. I wonder if zookeepers ever see any of the animals that they've had pass come back?
Actually saw a shadow dog twice, idk who the dog belonged to, the house was a rental with very weird vibes and we left as soon as we were able to, lived there for less than an year.
The Denver Zoo and the nearby Botanical Gardens have also been claimed to be haunted, due to similar reasons as the Lincoln Park Zoo when an old cemetery was moved.
Hermann Park in Houston was pretty much the edge of town in the 1920s and would have been a pretty lonely place, especially after hours. I am not at all surprised Nagel carried a gun.
The first time i saw a zoo i was vary young and i was sad how bad living conditions where for the animals. It amazes me now to see how much better they have it now. With natural habitat and enriching activities every day. I think we need zoos but i believe that it needs to be done right. With that said i have been to Huston zoo in high-school and I remember someone talking about it being creepy at night after everyone went home.
There are countless animals that would be extinct if they were not in Zoo's, modern Western Zoo's are different than they used to be and go out of their way to take care of the animals and make sure they multiply and don't go extinct.
Thank you for your thoughtful remarks on the ethics of zoos. At least nowadays they do not keep them in small cages, and one can argue they are "safer" than being in the wild especially if they are targets of poachers. But safety is not all one requires to live a good life, and zoos are a poor solution at best. Thank you.
Your dictation is getting much, MUCH BETTER!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Just a few little “tweaks”, and it’ll be perfect!! (Sometimes, you say two words so closely together, they sound like a single, completely different word.”) ❤️✌🏼 Awesome compilations as always!!!!
A relative of mine email the county of where the old Giffith park zoo / observation place they suggested that they renrw it and make it a nice place from the norm of city life of course they mentioned to be wary of crime and the homeless population i hope they do something productive to that place. We dislike abandoned places 😢
Neigal seems to be carrying a German Luger which is a .9mm and not a very powerful pistol round and wouldn't do much against large dangerous animals so he obviously carried it to use on people. Remember there is always someone faster. I am retired law enforcement and combat security contractor so I know and use firearms and I do fast draw competition and I rarely am beaten but occasionally I am and as good as I am there is always someone faster.
Wow! That’s weird, there’s no statue of the white guy killed by the cop in Newark, NJ? And maybe I missed it, but how many stores were looted and burned to the ground over the cop not going to prison?
I don't believe that after death spirits are wandering around their graves or even care about what happen to their bones. Not if they made it to Heaven anyway
I've forgotten what state this disaster took place in but there was a circus train that derailed and killed a number of the circus employees and the animals they were all buried in the same cemetery and some of the locals have said that at night you can hear the mournful cries of the animals that were killed in the train derailment.
The Hammond, Indiana, wreck in 1918? (Hermann Park is named for a local man named George Hermann, who donated the land. There is also a hospital named for him.)
I’d like this video a lot more if you didn’t carry such a negative attitude towards zoos. They are more than just for entertainment: they play an integral role in research and conservation efforts such as captive breeding of endangered species in hopes of reintroducing their offspring in the wild. Not to mention, a lot of animals end up in zoos because they were either found too injured to survive in the wild or were illegally kept as pets and, therefore, are too trusting of people and lack the experience to thrive in the wild. Also, being captive does not mean that they are miserable: if they have ample space, an enriching enclosure, and have their physical needs met, they are fine. Sure, zoos might have started out as not much better than circuses, but they have become so much more.
In the second story, it's said that there are ghostly sounds of animals in distress although there were no records of abuse at the zoo but what about the animals who were eaten during the meat shortage during WW1. I'm pretty sure they would have found that immensely distressing. Lol.
