Finally the 1990 F150 is down on all fours again. Lowering kit is complete! Took it for a ride and it steers a bit squirrelly so an alignment is to come. What’s next for this project? Subscribe to my channel to watch more videos.

Hey man it's me again, I finally got my truck done. It now has a 347 stroker with aluminum heads and intake. My c4 got a servo and a deeper pan to help with cooling. I got it dynoed at 300. I think I got enough weight out for it to be at 3000 pounds. I'm gonna make a video of it later.

Have a 94 slammed 6 inch front drop 11 rear drop beams with camber adjusters drop springs drop shocks for a ranger and rear has 3 inch drop springs axle flip and drop shackls c notched frame. On 22s 245 30 22 tire. Got some vids of my stereo and a full veiw of truck its a ptoject but something unique looking

Did you get negative camber after installing the DJM BEAMS?

took the truck to an alignment shop after install and the shop told me i could get different camber adjustment sleeves but they said i didn’t need them...guy at the shop said i was good and sent me on my way..

😆I’ve had GM and Chev, had to get rid of them. Too many problems. The Fords are the only ones that stuck around. I had an 86 Mustang GT Cobra that I worked my ass off for and built up at 16 years of age. Circumstances changed, had to sell. Fun cars, easy to wrench on. How about your self? Any preference you have for wheels? I like anything that treats me good with proper maintenance😆

@@Torn_Faction I only own one vehicle a white long bed two wheel drive 1996 f150 with a 302. I just got JDM flip kit for the rear axle and the calsonic flip kit shocks. I still want to throw jdm dreambeams in the front. and rear disc brake conversion in the rear.

Nice Terry Baptist!, good solid trucks. Got mine for $500 eight years ago. The only that went on it in that time was an alternator and just recently the starting solenoid.

what additional steps did you take to fix the alignment issues. what camber adjusters did you buy and did you replace the ball joints

Hi Brian East. On my channel in the F150 playlist there is a video called Backyard Alignment, a temporary method I used to get the wheels straight enough down the road onto an alignment machine. The alignment shop didn’t feel The truck needed any Alignment Caster/Camber Bushings so we didn’t order any. “We can order them and put them on but I don’t feel you need them”. Said the person at the shop. Lower Ball Joints were saved from the fork of death by managing to press the stud of the Lower Ball Joint out of the I-Beam without damaging it. There is a video of how I did that in the F150 playlist as well. At the end of summer I did notice the lower passenger Ball Joint getting weak. Once the snow is gone and I have a driveway to work in the ol F150(under a ton of snow at the moment)is getting a fresh set of Ball Joints this summer, along with new Radius Arm Bushings! The list goes on and on. Too many projects not enough summer months!!!

nater2013 Rear tires are 31x10.5 R15. Fronts are 235/75 R15. Same tires on the truck when I bought it 7 years ago. Hope that helps!

Did you have any issues with the length of your drive shaft after you were done?

Hi Dakota Fisher, luckily the kit uses stock driveshaft length. Read on if you like..... In the kit they provide two metal U brackets that essentially become your new leaf spring perches. The leaf spring center bolt holes in the U brackets are pre drilled off center to move your differential, compensating for the driveshaft. The U brackets also correct the pinion angle by just being shorter on the one side of the two U brackets. Simple design, no crazy parts involved. Hope that helps. I got a bunch of videos on my channel installing this kit. Ran into a few problems so watching the videos might save you so time.

Hello true survivor!, the lowering kit is made by DJM. The kit was ordered from Summit Racing but it looks like Summit no longer carries this DJM lowering kit. So..... I did a little bit of searching for you and found a site that sells 5 different kits to lower these trucks. The site is called Complete Performance. Wish I would have found this site earlier because they offer a 4/6 drop kit. Oh yeah and the lowering kit on this truck was under $600 shipped to my door. Did a flip kit on my 91 f150 but I drove it around for a day and top of my axle was hitting the bed and ended up busting my brake line. Do you have any clearance problems on yours?

Hi Kolby Haynes! Yikes, always scary to hear about brake lines letting go! I’ve been driving my F150 around for about 6 months now and haven’t had any problems yet.... Did the flip kit you install involve C notching the frame on your truck? Do you still your F150?

@@Torn_Faction no it was the same brackets you have. I put it on 5 days ago and actually watched the other video you had drilling holes into the bracket that helped me get it all together right. I don't know what's different about mine. I have belltech shocks and leaf springs that are only a few months old

Ah yes drilling into the U bolt plates, that was fun...Nice to hear that a video could help someone out. That’s why I started doing them. I’m not sure what would be so different on your truck than mine either? Maybe we could figure out the problem with your truck? So I took a few measurements on my truck, between the axle tube and bump stop it measured roughly 2 3/4 inches. Between the brake line bracket at the top of the differential and the bed of the truck measured roughly 6 1/2inches. So the axle tubes would hit the bump stops before the top of the differential hits the bed on my truck. Maybe you could compare these measurements and figure out what’s going on with your truck?

Hi Juan Romero, there are probably more lowering kits out there but this is the one I went for and worked out nice. Just came home from a cruise with it. Kit is holding up awesome!!!

@@Torn_Faction i have a 90 single cab, n im trying to lower it but im short on budget, i did get the flip kit but for the front i dont know if by just cutting the springs would make it

Hey Juan Romero cutting the coil springs are not going to be enough. Your I Beams will most likely be riding on the frame to compensate for the drop in the rear. Did a home made flip kit on a 70’s Chevy 1500 on a friends truck years back with nothing but headaches afterwards. Always chewing through u joints and balljoints. Looked cool though. Even as my truck sits the front is a hair higher than I would like it. I had bought some leaf spring perches and U bolts intending to do a homemade flip kit on this truck, glad I didn’t.

The rear was about 5.25 inches and the front was an even 3 inches. The truck sits level.

Yours Truly, got mine from Summit Racing but it looks like they don’t carry the kit anymore. Did some searching and found a website called Complete Performance in jasper texas, it’s cpaddict.com I think. They have 3/5 kits. Wish I would have found the site earlier because they offer a 4/6 drop.
