They should have got the death penalty, nothing less, and no wasting time. Best for these 2 would have been to put them through a meat grinder, turning them into dog food. They don't deserve a 2nd chance. If they were that evil as kids, imagine now.
James’s murder is still a very raw point for most people in the uk. I still find it hard to watch anything about it. God help those two if they’re ever found out. Venables very nearly was after telling a group of friends whilst drunk. The thought of him being pulled along by those two on that day absolutely breaks my heart. They really should be back in proper prison.
A close friend of mine assessed Robert Thompson in juvenile prison and she told me that he was a very naughty, remorseless child. Obviously this was decades ago. One can only hope that he and venables grew remorseful for their unthinkable crimes against poor, innocent James. 😞

@@1emmajones I just remembered something else about Thompson...one of the prisons he was kept in is now abandoned and some urban explorers made a video of themselves in the abandoned facility. One of them had actually been in the prison with Thompson and he said that he was something of a "big man" within the prison... If that's true, well it speaks volumes, doesn't it? 😞 What you said about this case remaining raw is so very true, i had a difficult time listening to the end of this video, it will never stop being utterly disgusting and disturbing. Kids should be given every chance to learn and grow and redeem themselves and change their ways, for *most of* the things they do. Murder, torture, rape, are not the things. There was a photo of venables circulating a few years ago on Facebook. Then it came out the police were prosecuting people who shared it. Even at that young age they knew right from wrong,evil bastards 🤬
A whole 7 yrs for taking a 13yr old girl's life & sexual assaulting her before or after her death?? WTF?? That's NOT justice served befitting his crimes against her, its a punch line to a cruel joke IMO. If he serves 3 yrs in total, if that I'd be shocked. Most likely he'll be released even earlier for "good" behavior or over crowding. And thats a sentence befitting those crimes?? I don't know which is worse, the crimes people commit against one another or the so called justice/ sentence that are potentially served if you're lucky enough to get the case solved & properly prosecuted. Also the time he spent in jail awaiting trial will alsobe deducted as time already served so technically he could of went home practically after the trial. He has been allowed to life out more than 3+ decades as a free man after taking her life & then when he finally confesses to her murder the prosecution's reaction is offering a plea deal?????? There's just way lotoo much bwrong going on here to contemplate.

@@johanna5688 it was a shopping mall not the Wild West. I suspect many parents can say that one of their kids got lost on a shopping trip. I found a little girl in a mall once myself and helped look after her until security located her mum, who was beside herself looking for her kid
I thought all bullies were the same, but they weren't. They were both completely different from me as a child, they couldn't tell the difference between being cool and evil, and they weren't afraid of the law. They are like demons in the form of children.
Little kids disappear in the blink of an eye. My sister's oldest son was a runner and fearless. In 1969 I was working at Dayton's in the brand new Rosedale Mall. At Christmas a toy Department was set up right next to us that was enclosed and the way out was through Housewares. We were fielding 5-10 very young children who escaped while their parents were shopping. We had a spot at the counter where they were safe, they could be seen, see their parent coming but could not run away again before their parents came for them. If possible we went looking for parents. I had two much younger toddler sisters and I could not imagine thinking they were lost in that Christmas rush even for a few minutes.
It's crazy how it took a confession for them to look more into the people who lived in the house where the body was found buried. Horrible police work.

With James Bulger the police said there was indications that batteries may have been in his anus even though they weren't found after death. Poor baby had to have been terrified and calling for his mommy. I can't understand how 10 years could be so evil.
there were details too distressing for public knowledge so they didn't reveal the full thing of what happened to poor james... they sexually assaulted him with tree branches too...i watched that short movie called Detainment with those 2 amazing child actors that act out what they said in their police interview (i have heard the real one just not the entire thing) very disturbing stuff... robert didn't seem like he was 10...he was already acting like a criminal and jon was a manipulative psycho crying and hugging the detective saying he never did anything... 2 opposite personalities
Well, they are English after all, where they have the most numerous & heinous criminals, going back centuries. They should have been given the death sentence, and no wasting time. Their only just and final punishment awaits them in the afterlife. God sees everything. They will see James too. He will be God's witness to their demonic crimes.
A similar case to Jamie's in the USA happened in 1981 in Florida. Adam Walsh aged 6 was abducted from a Sears department store where is mother was shopping. His head was found two weeks later in a drainage canal. His body was never found and his murder has never been solved.
I just watched an in depth video where it's proposed that Dahmer may have been the one to kidnap Walsh and get away with it. Even the guy they captured for the murder who John Walsh was 100% convinced was guilty kept on getting basic information wrong and was quoted knowing that the bigger of a case the police believe you're involved in the more special treatment you're given. Dahmer wouldn't admit to it, but some experts believe it could be because Dahmer felt guilt and disgust going after someone so young he didn't want to come clean

James's story is the first one I remember as I was just twelve at the time and it stuck with me cause I could never work out in my own mind how they did that to James, I know myself at that age it was the last thing I would have even been thinking about, over the years I've read and watched a lot of documentary's on this case, and I still can't believe how the courts protect them, even after still committing crimes as an adult, against children. The courts need to stop protecting him, and start protecting the children.
In the 1950-1990 at least Schools were all the time giving kids a free day off rather than an appropriate punishment. Hope that has changed. I loved school except I had a really rough transition to Jr High 7th grade so that year if I could have left school I would have but we were bussed. Mostly I was totally bored and teachers would not let you read or work on other homework in their class. My CORE Block Homeroom teacher was young, pregnant and sick everyday. Not sure which of us wept the most that year in her 4 hour class. Come to think of it I might have been anemic.

I remember that case but I didn't know that Carey haunted her killer.Even though killing is going on all over the world. That's one of the reasons I Moved away from the area. I wish a lot more cases is solved this way
Jasmine, this is not entertainment, but real life crime. It's sad and disturbing to watch. I would rather not watch this really as I never watch crime. I just happened across this by chance. Those 2 boys were horrifically evil. They should have been made to disappear off the face of the Earth. No trace left of them.
These monsters should be followed around by their victims till they become demented with terror, then drop dead. The law should have given them the most brutal death penalty. Do to them as they did to their victims.

The second case is sketchy; so he was relentlessly haunted for 33 years? Then cops a plea and gets 7 years? As for Venable? Venable was and is deeply disturbed, he never showed regret or remorse. His mother raised a monster. They were not troubled in any way.

Those who colluded to give them new names and identities are equally evil. Why cover up for them & give them a 2nd chance? It seems criminals are helping these 2 criminals out. Those 2 will pay for what they did. There is no escape. In the end, there is God's punishment. Same goes for those who gave them a fresh start in life with new id's.
They offered him sweets, thats how they got him to follow the older boys, he was only little and would never think he was in danger. Over thirty people saw James with the boys, who said he was crying, and when asked by the adults why he was crying they would tell them because he wanted his mum and there were taking him to her, so they were left to go on there way. Also the train track where James was left and killed was right behind a police station, the same station that went to the shopping center to help look for James.

I'm from MICHIGAN and in 1982 I was a junior in high school. Our high school had a student smoking section and students could leave campus for lunch; very liberal for by today's standards. My school would not have let a student wander home " on suspension" for being " out of class" or whatever. I hope her parents sued the school system in Wisconsin for ALL the money. The school management caused that young girls death as much as her murderer did.

As abhorrent and disturbing as what they did to sweet little James was, I don't believe that children that young should be tried as adults no matter what crime they've committed. If they can't be rehabilitated by the time they're legal adults, then perhaps they should be placed in a psychiatric unit until such time as they are deemed safe to return into society.
