I'm from Oregon, from the first case. My grandma used to work at that restaurant back in the 50's and all the waitresses used to hear creepy things going on all the time. To this day she refuses to go back in there.

Another ghost story I could think of the 1897 murder of Zona Shue. Zona was murdered by her husband, can't remember his name, and Zona's mom believed he murdered her daughter because Zona's ghost appeared to her mom and showed her mom how her daughter's husband murdered her. This led to Zona's husband being convicted of her murder.

My heart goes out to Betty Williams. They treated her in a cruel way and were indifferent to her, causing her so much agony to not want to continue and she couldn't move on, convincing herself that this was the only antidote to her situation and couldn't see herself transcending this aspect of her life. It's just truly heart-wrenching and awful to hear of her experience.

I hated high school since I was also an outcast, so I feel a deep sense of empathy for Betty. I have struggled with depression/anxiety due to an emotionally rough home life and attempted self deletion when I was 16. Thank goodness I was able to make it through with the help of some friends, eventually meeting a man at 20 that would end up becoming my best friend, husband, and biggest cheerleader. He would NEVER take my life and in many ways, has saved it many times. I'm so sorry that she didn't have the support she needed because it would have made all the difference. RIP🙏🏽🕊️

Mary Jean Reed was on Dead Files with Amy Allan. The reason the case was botched allegedly was due to the police chief who was much older than Mary. He had an obsession with her and was jealous of her going out with Skridla. He allegedly put 2 hit men on her. Eerie episode.

Regarding the first case, I know that Mary Reed was having an affair with the local Sheriff. He was MUCH older than her and reportedly very jealous. He confronted Mary and her date the night that they were killed, trying to get her to leave with him instead. She refused, and then the Sheriff and another man followed the couple's car in another car towards lovers' lane. It's widely believed and accepted now that the Sheriff was the one responsible for the double murder.

@@billsloan There was an entire Dead Files episode based on the case. Did the sheriff have white or silver, thinning hair? The man was a bit heavy set with a belly not that he was fat just a big belly sort of? Fat cheeks? @@angishallita685 Right on all counts, as I recall. In the Dead Files episode I saw they did show his photo, and they interviewed her younger brother who saw her date pick her up in front of their house the night she was killed, and also saw the Sheriff pull up and try to get her to go with him instead. They had an argument in the front yard before Mary left with her date regardless. Both cars drove off in the same direction.

I find it incredibly interesting that The Haunting Of... has several encounters or spiritual attachments that wind up being verifiable through historical evidence. T-Boz and her daughter were protected by Judith Barsi and terrorized by her disgusting excuse for a father. Connie Stevens' ghost was Olympic champion and actress Sonja Henie. Tom Green was protected having his life saved by a spirit who died saving several people's lives in a historical Canadian fire. Greg Grunberg picked up a spirit while driving thru the Colorado mountains suspected (confirmed by Kim) cannibal Alferd Packer. Coco Austin opened up a literal train wreck portal via the Ouija board trying to connect to the spirit haunting her that had ironically caused the train wreck where her childhood home sat.

The composite of the exhumed skull in the Mary Jane Reed case looks to be of Native American descent. The body, when found must have been in pretty bad shape for them to believe it was Mary Jane. Or is this a case of a switch at the funeral home? Very strange indeed. Maybe that's why she haunts?! 😊

I remember seeing a treatment of the Grace Brown haunting years ago, on Unsolved Mysteries. And they added a very interesting wrinkle ot the story: HOLLYWOOD. Decades after the murder, Grace's murder was adapted as the movie, "A Place in the Sun," an Elizabeth Taylor vehicle that grossly misrepresented the facts of the case. In particular, it maligned Grace as an unattractive and shrewish woman, and asserted taht she had been killed because Charles loved someone prettier and sweeter (Taylor). Some residents have asserted that Grace is motivated to haunt the lake because she is so very ANGRY at how wrong Hollywood got her story!

Chester Gillette's family is wealthy. Wealthy families from that era are actually behind the name brands we use today. Also from that era last names were very recent. What a person in family did for a living became your last name. Such as a Black Smith or House builder we have Black & Smith or House & Housen. This was done to lessen the confusion of course. Plus consider population cut in half or so back then. Today's brand name products come from that era. In America GILLETTE is the TOP name brand for shaving razors.

“ Ashton Bedford” ..Uh, where have YOU been? Did you go to driving school? In EVERY state in the USA , flashing lights is a common way to communicate to other drivers. It is meant to get the other drivers attention. It could mean , “ go ahead”, “ stay put”, or “ I have the right of way”. It is also to warn other drivers of road hazards, speed traps or to communicate that other drivers should turn down their high beams as they are blinding you.. the correct way to do this optical communication is to flash your lights 3 times in quick succession. So,my guess is that you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Sarah Felix, grainy black and white photos are especially ripe for pareidolia. It’s a thing. Look it up and relax a little. The world is not full of faces. Your head is.

Some souls can't move on. They are In " stagnation" some souls are " dead souls" and thier justice /karma is that they are not allowed to be in heaven for not taking responsibility for crimes they committed...they are to evil or corrupted...some souls are ashamed for their actions and they walk on earth but they can always go towards the light... Some souls are on earth because they are attached to people, homes 🏡 , objects..God can forgive suicide if u take responsibility...or if u have a mental health. Evey human has a purpose om this earth some reincarnate some come back and go through karmic retribution.

That last case was seriously fucked up & is what inspired the film's An American Tragedy, that came out in 1930, I believe, & the 1951 remake, A Place in the Sun. Even if you've never seen a place in the sun, you have seen scenes of the film, as several scenes of the film are shown in Friday the 13th part 5.

Yes, it was a novel first, but there is a film from 1930 or 1931, that is called an American Tragedy. It was based off of the real life murder, described in this video, & was remade in 1951, as A Place in the Sun. Look it up, before trying to start an argument.

Am I wrong to think that Mack Herring was an ass? Even before, he broke up with her, he kept that relationship a secret. I know all too well what that's like.

It's always hilarious when he mispronounce words. it's not because of a simple mistake, it because he totally butchers the poor words 🙄 The funniest in this video was 'exhumination' when it's ex-hu-mation lmfao I also found bone-ded funny AF too. it made me think of Eric Cartman when he says 'im not fat, I'm just big boned' haha
