I was carried home from the hospital in a VW Beatle, and things have just been getting weirder ever since!

My son was literally minutes from being born in a 69 VW squareback which is like a VW station wagon. And my youngest daughter was almost born in a 68 VW campervan! I had very quick deliveries.

It was probably a combination of things. Because she didn't just quit music, she did a major life overhaul. If you notice the sequence of events: 1. Records a new and different style of music about a new topic (unrequited love). 2. Quits music. 3. Leaves the city and the state. 4. Takes up writing for a journal. 5. Begins drinking heavily. Sounds like she tried to escape a personal problem and only made it worse. This was probably a depression made more intense because of loving someone who didn't love her. So she leaves the old life behind to escape that. But once relocated, she only feels more isolated and alone because she's farther from her social circle. So, she feels worse. And she self medicates with alcohol. Which ultimately only makes things worse. And finally, she just packs up and leaves.

No for me. I've suffered from depression for years, and a solitary alaskan cabin, with a roaring fire, away from all this misery and pain .. away from everything... sounds absolutely perfect.

Sorry I've dealt with my share of depression, and a warmer climate is the least helpful for me. I hope Ms. Converse restarted her life somewhere else and found contentment.

Facts for me also which is why I prefer the California desert. Also it’s a plus im hour in half away from the beach that helps to.

I don’t think a warmer climate would really matter. But the fact it’s dark 24 hrs a day for months would not help someone with depression. It’s been proven sunlight to help those who are depressed.
