@@MrSomethingElse *The Suck'n cut!* *It sucks an' it cuts* 😆🤣 That commercial was awesome yo...Straight up Classic!! It was a "parody" commercial in the typical SNL style where they make fun of actual products available to consumers. I'm not saying that PL/CL was making a parody but they likely used this sponsor to add a bit of humor to their dark and depressing channels about the paranormal or serious crimes like kidnapping, r@pe, torture or murder cases.

Much has been made of Phineas Gage, his injury, and his personality change, he actually was able to handle a team of horses for 7 years on the job in Chile. It's utterly amazing that he could handle driving a coach, sometimes on mountain roads. This requires skill and coordination. Little is mentioned about this, but it's simply not a job that many people can do.

I’m really surprised the last lady didn’t lose her eyes, considering they were frozen open! That’s crazy!
@MeduseldRabbit
@MeduseldRabbit 11 месяцев назад
On the last case, I suspect part of the reason she survived without lasting effects was because she had been drinking that night. Goldfish can survive being frozen solid during winter because their blood turns to alcohol, and it protects their tissues from the ice shards that form in the blood. While it was not mentioned here, several other videos I have seen mentioned she had been at least somewhat intoxicated that night. This both got her into trouble by wrecking and sketchy decisions, and then saved her from injury as she thawed out.

Phineas Gage: I believe it was UNLUCKY, for those forced to have lobotomies in Mental Institutions. There were so very, VERY many people, who did not need that brutal procedure!! 😔💔
@pamelasimone5084
@pamelasimone5084 11 месяцев назад
The claims about the effectiveness of lobotomies was overstated. Several years ago 20/20 did a report on people who received lobotomies when the procedure was at the height of its popularity. The survivors are still hospitalized and most of them never really improved or the improvement was only temporary.

Some of these cases are acknowledged classics: the Gage case is well-documented, and I do remember Jean Hilliard's case from UM, when i was younger. You could be camping, asleep in your tent and get bit by a small bat. The next day you think it’s just a bug bite. Then months to a year later you have unexplained bizarre symptoms. Go to the hospital, start to fear drinking water, have no idea what’s going on and then boom…they figure out you have it.

Try to get in touch with the social worker at the hospital or if you know someone who works in the hospital who can help you get in touch with one they have lists of organisations that assist with this because lord knows the hospital is going to get paid. Or local church organisations can help you, even if you aren't religious. You can go to the welfare office and apply for emergency funds, the money is there, you just need to jump through hoops to get it. I'll be thinking of you ❤, I moved to the UK before my daughter could ever get the MRI she needed. Good luck 🤞💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 You could also speak with the counselor at your kids school if you are comfortable with that.

I second speaking with the social worker at the hospital. I have stage IV breast cancer which has metastasized throughout my body. Been on treatments for 3 yrs now. My deductible is met by Feb every year…..lol. There are charities both thru the hospital and outside the hospital that can help, but you’d have to research to find them. I just know I was given a ton of paperwork and options if I needed assistance. Unfortunately for me, I don’t qualify for most of it, as I make too much, according to them (i think you have to make under like $25 or $30K to get financial assistance thru my hospital). So I hear you on paying the deductible. Mine is around $4000 a year, and it’s a struggle to come up with the extra funds to pay every month, esp when I have had to cut back on work. But I am thankful for my insurance, which covers the hundreds of thousands in treatments and scans I receive every year, so it certainly could be worse. My cancer has recently now spread to my brain and I just finished 5 rounds of radiation. Remains to be seen if it helped or not. If not, well that’s the end for me and I’ll just work on my bucket list and hope I live long enough to do some of it. Good luck to you, don’t stress about it too much. Financial assistance is often available if you need it.

IDK if it'll make sense, but the kids had a familiar 'smell' to them (like a pheremone thing maybe?), and our bond before my TBI was close, so a lot of 'behavioural' elements (comfortability with their physical proximity, singing together, watching Scooby Doo) kept us close while my mind recovered itself... which it's still doing, honestly. My husband, on the other hand, seemed like a complete stranger for a few months, but i found him to be an unpleasant and strikingly irritating human being. Luckily, I discovered he'd been lying and cheating for quite a long time so divorcing him was emotionally more a relief than a trauma. :)@@whitneybennett6859

Im sure the lady in the last story was extremely cold, for a human body, but i heard you say tha her core temperature was 80 degrees, and that is a long way from being frozen solid. Her clothes most likely were frozen stiff, but her body was not. Bubbles coming from her snotty nose obviously means she was breathing, which involves movement of the body, and if she had been frozen solid she would not have been breathing.
