Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Ephesians 6.17)

So true. I love Ephesians. Ephesians 2:8 is probably one of my favorite verses out of the book.

Some years ago I was at a meeting of the Phoenix Atheists Meetup Group, and someone brought up something Pope Francis said about homosexuality as if what he said was a major break with Catholic teaching. I said that what Francis said was no different from what Benedict XVI, John Paul II and Paul VI had said--that homosexual orientation is not sinful but that homosexual acts are sinful. They didn't want to hear it and were hostile towards me for pointing that out. I said it's fine if they don't agree with Catholic teachings, but they should at least understand what they are opposing. Some people just want to be ignorant.

Ephesians 2:8, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-"

Catholics agree that grace is a gift from God and we cannot earn our way to heaven. You have a misunderstanding of Catholic teaching on this. PLEASE watch my 4 videos on "Salvation by Faith Alone" retorted. God bless!

It's very disingenuous leaving out half of the verse that you just quoted. This is the rest of the verse that you literally just quoted from: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
@Chief-CO

@curtisjordan9210 literally what does it change? Do you want me to say the entirety of Ephesians 2 for this? We cannot buy or work our way into Heaven for God saved us by grace through faith, it's a gift that cannot be bought. God made us to do good works (Not required for salvation as the previous verse mentions). If you want to spit on the sacrifice Christ gave on the cross by saying it's not enough for salvation you can, I just don't follow.

Nobody is spitting on anything, and you will be judged by your works, it's in the Bible... In the Book of Revelation, we get a powerful picture of the final judgment, where two important books are opened: the Book of Life and the Book of Works. These books help us understand why both faith in Jesus and good works are necessary for salvation. The Bible makes it clear that on Judgment Day, what we’ve done in life will be taken into account. Our actions will be judged, showing whether our faith was genuine. Jesus mentions in Matthew 16:27 that each person will be rewarded according to what they have done, and Revelation 20:12-13 reinforces that the dead will be judged based on their deeds as recorded in the books. This indicates that our deeds are important, not only as evidence of our faith but also because they determine the rewards we will receive in heaven. The Book of Life is like a list of those who are saved-those who have accepted Jesus and received eternal life. Revelation 20:15 warns that anyone not found in this book will be thrown into the lake of fire, highlighting the importance of having your name written there. The Book of Works, on the other hand, records everything we’ve done, both good and bad. On Judgment Day, this book will be used to evaluate our actions, showing whether our faith was genuine and how we lived it out. While this judgment doesn’t determine our salvation-that’s determined by the Book of Life-it does reflect the rewards we’ll receive in heaven based on how we lived our lives. Faith and good works go hand in hand. The Bible teaches that true faith naturally leads to good works, as stated in James 2:26. Our good deeds are the proof that our faith is real, and these deeds contribute to our eternal reward. Together, the Book of Life and the Book of Works show us that living a life of good works is essential. Good works don’t earn us a place in heaven, but they prove that our faith is alive and genuine. The better we live out our faith through good works, the greater our reward will be in the afterlife.

Eph 2:17 “ And have the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, which is the “ WORD OF GOD” now throw away those pagan rosary beads and fight like a Christian!!! JESUS CHRIST IS LORD !!!! HALLELUYAH!!!

you have a misunderstanding of the purpose of the rosary. It is used to ponder the mysteries of Christ's life, death and resurrection. Please check out our video on the rosary.

Even so this verse still applies, the rosary is comprised of scriptures, the prayers we say are pulled out of the bible which is the Word of God.

So you measure and ascertain the standard of truth primarily from the catechism of the Catholic Church, and not the Bible.... isn't that one of the reasons Martin Luther published his 95 theses?
