I caught something nice while rewatching. That map at 32:05 was made with a map-making website for stories and stuff called Inkarnate, and it just made me smile to see someone else use it as part of a really interesting experience.

That is a very faithful recreation of the first Silent Hill game's opening. The main differences are the voice acting and the first person perspective. After that part (and on subsequent playthroughs on a New Game +) you wake up in a diner and wonder what was a dream and what was reality. It's a great game and I HIGHLY recommend playing it!

the Silent Hill "remake" (because I wouldn't necessarily call it a remake, but rather a reimagining in first person perspective) actually captures the first few minutes of the original game so perfectly, even the opening sequence. i don't know if the lack of loading zones is good or not, because in the original game it adds to the tension and spookiness of the game -- you never know what you'll see after you exit the black screen (and comparing it to the loading zones of the original Resident Evil games, where there's a door animation, it's just a really blank screen with just the door sound effect) overall it's a pretty good "remake", but it's more of a proof of concept than a demo with how short it was. still pretty good tho
