Nice to have my style validated. Great explanation. I have never gone for a lot of colour with the exception of blue. Strong colours & patterns hurt my head. I prefer shades of magnolia & brown furniture rather than the drama of black with the exception of my black Georgian fire insert along with black facia wharfdale speakers that flank it. My husband would divorce me if I got rid of them. I find white to be harsh but have touches like the skirting & door frames & ceiling & white lights & shades. I like a modern home but find myself drawn to older antique pieces & like to blend them. It looks like it’s evolved over time rather than I’ve gone to the store & bought everything in one shop.

Thank you for sharing these helpful tips. However I found it harder to concentrate on what was being said/explained with the background music. Playing the music only during the non-speaking parts of the video would have worked better for me but perhaps I’m alone in that

Can you use the 60-30-10 rule in reverse order, while striving for a neutral decor?

Hi there! Can you expand on your question a little? Do you mean using your contrasting colors as the main colors and the main colors as the contrast? If so, it's kind of the same thing as doing a light neutral scheme with dark contrast and dark neutral schemes with light contrast. ~Liz
