Nah, that was ok. If I punched him with my speed, he would block it. He also competes in lighter weight classes, so other dude will not be much slower.
The feeling of slowly practicing a combo over and over and getting it into your mmuscle memory, and then being able to effortlessly use that combo at a higher speed is so satisfying.
The most important part is the step with the jab because no one is standing that close to you in the ring. Remember to train like the fight and fight like you train.
There are two things that no one does in boxing that every coach will tell you to do, extend your punches and pivot that back foot all the way. When he’s going slow he actually does these two things and loses his balance. Lightning fast without extension and pivot. No reason to extend a 2 on a 1-2-3 anyways
and every coach will always tell u that those things dont always translate in fights, and u 100% dont need to be extending on every lunch or pivoting the back foot back all the way either, theres a reason they are coaches and boxers and youre just commenting
