Great video! I'm just starting to get back into golf after a few years out and been getting tight pain in mid/lower back. Tried these movements last night and feel the difference in my spine. Thanks 👍

This guy clearly knows his stuff. Great presentation with clear intro, concise explanation and good summary. He seems to have a very good understanding of the anatomy involved.

Excellent instruction video; clear explanation and underlining the key points. Hopefully it will help my poor old back (and I can already feel less pressure on the lower back if I just gently shift my weight across to my right leg before I take the club back!). Many thanks.

I strained my lower back this week. Wasn't swinging out of my shoes, I just tried to steer my Approach shot to the green by overreaching at Impact. Weight too far forward, almost on my toes, That transfered my rotational force from my legs straight to my lower back 😬

Looks like you would have to 'flip' to hit the ball if you are square to the target line at impact. Like to see more information. Thanks....

It's interesting that there is now opposite instruction stating that you should straighten the right or trail knee to allow the hip to turn more and take stress off the lower back. What he's advocating is the old x-factor back swing (flexed knee straight ahead) which many people followed and ended up with major back issues, me included

Great video. To be clear: Posting up on L hip brings hips nearly parallel to the target line And then Pushing down on L foot to extend the left knee drives the L hip back and helps power the release of the club. I don’t understand how you can say pull the L hip back? Isn’t it a push?

I remember the first time i went actually golfing on a 18 hole course... my back, shoulder, shoulder blade and parts of my legs were so stiff and sore...

Great video thanks.I have hurt my lower back. My shoulder turn is more around the body meaning I do not do tilting of my left shoulder so that it is more pointed towards the ground. I did this motion several times at home without hitting any ball. Could this be the reason that I hurt my back? The other motion I did was to keep my chest more down so that I avoid some kind of extension in my backswing. I usually extend my chest and upper body when I finish my swing, but I wanted to do the opposite namely more chest down. I do not restrict my lower body. I am 58 years old. I appeciate if you could comment. Thank you

Everything here is on point. I just disagree with your advice on externally rotating the lead leg and turning on it how you are through the hitting area. The lead leg should stay flexed longer through the impact zone, it prevents knee injury. The lead leg should have the ability/power to stay flexed while turning open to the target through impact. Check out moe norman through the impact zone, he is one of the best to use that strategy. You may lose a bit of distance but you will hit it straighter and reduce stress on the lead leg. Thoughts?

Reverse Spine Angle is an absolute no no, this video is correct. Thank you to the creator, us golfers with bad backs can use all the help! For any fellow bad back strugglers, I highly recommend this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-V0tHpeSi9TM.html from Shawn Clement. Everyone is different, I've had two major back surgeries and for me Shawn's swing with the straight right leg on back swing (for a right handed golfer) makes it easier for me to play. I am in no way affiliated with Shawn by the way.

I am 73 and hit tons of range balls and play 2-3 times weekly. 2 weeks ago trying to do the DEAD Drill I worked on posting up in neutral joint alignment. Did not hurt then, but next day I could not make a golf swing due to huge front hip pain as weight and turn moved to my front side. Two weeks later and I still cannot make a golf swing. Be careful - especially if you are a senior. I see orthopedist next week.

If you’re experiencing pain you’re doing it incorrectly. Don’t blame the drill. You need to understand what you’re doing wrong

If you don't want back pain, study the greatest golfers of all time that never had a single issue with their backs their entire careers. Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Phil Mickelson, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Bobby Jones. Watch the legs of greats. They do not resist with the lower body. It makes my back hurt to watch your example.
