@@majorbombas yes, according to our nordic depiction of odin he was said to look like gandalf. well the other way around, LOTR modelled gandalf after the nordic description of odin. odin was a mage with high intellect, not a brute physical warrior like his enforcer thor
I disagree on the callback to beating Zeus. It's clearly Pandora when she grabs Kratos and tells him about Hope. When Kratos was loosing to Zeus you get a POV callback to Pandora telling to Kratos: "Hope is what makes us strong, it's what we fight with when all else is lost." The way Atreus grabs Kratos is also the same movement That Pandora grabbed Kratos
I spent 45 just wailing on him, it doesn’t end unless you let it. I was glad to beat him for that long, and if my fingers didn’t get tired I would have beat him longer

@@supdude4292 not sure if he's the strongest. They never speak of his strength only knowledge and trickery. When they speak on Thor they bring up strength
I like to think the eye, represents how Kratos earned wisdom after his venture with Atreus. He knew how to be a better father for him and was finally able let go from his past
I think I prefer the Odin we got. Odin isn’t really a fighter, he manipulates everyone around him, so having his design be vaguely non-threatening works with that, in my total novice opinion haha Of course I could be wrong, this is just my opinion and I totally agree the concept Odin had an amazing design!
Fun Fact: while killing Zeus, you can beat him indefinitely. My friends and I passed the controller around for 9+ hours straight just trying to test it! Fun times.
@@feuc I feel like it's supposed to symbolize how much rage the players had you could have stopped at any time when the screen was covered with blood but what did most people do they continue to press that button and keep pressing it until eventually they stop but they could have stopped at any time
He looked better in earlier games. Not necessarily his clothes but his facial features were very menacing looking. He looked very intimidating and now he kinda looks like a dad at a barbecue who works out
@@COYOTE743 bro the odin in the game looks like a weak , old , homeless dude next to a supermarket asking for a sandwich, how you should be scared of that ? If you add to that an obese thor , it just becomes funny rather than intimidating
imagine, it was odin all along in gow4, he was aware of ragnorock and tried preventing it by being kratos, and imagine, kratos never left greek mythology, he is with Calliope
It’s also a reference to Pandora snapping him out of his rage as she was meant to be someone that kratos saw as his daughter which she so reminded him of as in 18 it is his son so maybe this works
I love how atreus looks and sound in the new trailer game and how he doesn't get mad at kratos for killing his dad even going on to say "I didn't see anything" now yeah its a lie but he knew his dad wasn't ready to talk about it yet
I really wish they would have kept the original design and possibly persona of Odin. The one in the game feels like some sort of car salesman/middle management guy from NY.
Mowing this when ragnarok is out it feels like the eyepatch on Kratos was just to tie in at the end of ragnarok where Kratos becomes the allfather of the realm basically
Honestly I’ve expected Kratos to replace Odin for a while now, mainly because it only makes sense for him to fill the power vacuum of a chief god, but also because Kratos finally feeling humanity’s love from the position of a chief god would be a neat little bowtie to his story having now gained the wisdom to be a chief god alongside having the power of one.
God they fucking threw that Odin design out the window and made him look like some old guy from a nursing home, not saying it’s bad I love the simple design fro Odin
