I had coils placed into mine. They went through my groin. A week later I'm home. Tired and sore but it's worked, with minimal damage.

I had the same done in 2020 during the first couple weeks of the lockdown. Trying to find a video of a procedure. Glad you made it :) Mine was in the circle of Willis. There wouldn't be much chance of me being myself ever again going through the skull.

My first aneurysm got brust in 2020 so pterional craniotomy and microvascular clipping was done. To prevent brusting of my second aneurysm stent (flow divertor) was implanted in 2022 but after somedays it got blocked and gave me ischemic stroke. Now I have 2 clips in brain's left hemisphere &1 stent in brain's right hemisphere. My doctor's are like GOD's sent so I lived to tell the tale.n

It's worth noting that most people who have a brain aneurysm will never be aware and live a fulfilled life. It's the more serious aneurysms we become aware of due to aforementioned symptoms of photophobia (bright light aversion), an immediate onset of the worst headache imaginable, facial pain, drooping eyelids, they're the main symptoms. However 1 in 50 people live with brain aneurysms and they're totally asymptomatic. The primary indicator is a sub arachnoid brain haemorrhage (sah,) the brain has 3 layers pia dura arachnoid, and a bleed beneath the arachnoid layer is best indicator juxtaposed with lumbar puncture and scan. The aftermath of surgery is crucial too, this is when problems, if theyre going to appear, manifest. More haemorrhaging or infection. The more time elapsed since surgery the more likelihood of a full recovery. Usually around 2 weeks you will see problems if they're going to develop, a much better prognosis when you are 2 weeks post,-op.

proposing a technique that may be useful, which is to put two blocking stints before and after the aneurysm and injecte a healing jell inside. Then wait until the artery recover it's original shape. So there will be no pressure on the surrounding sensitive areas.

@@terrymckenna3382 i had a hemorrhage size of a fist and wondering how they removed it with craniotomy with clipping
@terrymckenna3382
@terrymckenna3382 3 года назад
@@junemercado the haemorrhage is the actual bleed and yes when a lumbar puncture is performed you will get indication as to the severity of the bleed, along with scan and angiography this enables the surgeon to decide on how we proceed. We typically see clear cerebral spinal fluid (csf), straw coloured csf indicating a lower level bleed which still needs surgery and a rose coloured csf identifying a more serious bleed. When you say size of a fist, you are talking about the actual aneurysm, which is like a bubble on the brain artery. These occur as some people have a weakness in the arterial wall leading to an aneurysm. Slightly more prevalent in females. Patients will feel sudden onset of headache, aversion to bright lights and occasionally collapse, it's a serious emergency. So in essence imagine an artery with a bubble (aneurysm) on one side , this doesn't get removed as you asked, the surgeon places a strong clip between the wall and aneurysm, giving the artery the necessary reinforcement and the aneurysm is pretty redundant then, it's not the problem it was, if left untreated there's a high chance of stroke and death is not uncommon, you now have the clip supporting fhe artery and not allowing the previous aneurysm to become problematic. Craniotomy, in theatre you will be either prone (face down) on operating table or supine (on back) . You see the brain and wonder how these arteries in its centre can be operated on, its fairly accessible believe it or not, the neurosurgeons are remarkably gifted. Most bleeds from aneurysms happen in the centre of the brain , theres a circle with arteries called the circle of willis. There are 2 other methods of treating aneurysms called coiling and stent insertion. Hope that helped. It's probably the operation I see most of, Im a scrub nurse assisting neurosurgeon.

@@abhi335001 I'm very sorry tp hear. This disease is a nightmare. The problem is that there 2 different lines of treatment for it. 1) Traditional approach in which a neurosurgeon uses the 1st method shown in this video. 2) Interventional Radiologist coil the aneurysm or install a stent or both. But this decision is very difficult. Both sides try to convince you their treatment is the best option. They will scare you about the alternative. In the end it is your risk what you choose to go with.

You must consult with other good interventional radiologists (The doctors who perform coiling/stenting procedures). *Because I know from experience some doctors always tell you go for flow diverter because it makes the hospital more money.* But many times its not needed. Yes, if performed correctly and in time. The danger is of rupturing which causes blood to enter the brain and irritate it. Loss of motor functions, sight, memory, etc. can occur. So it's better to perform the proper procedure as soon as the aneurysm is detected.
