First of all thanks a lot for doing this!! I have a basic question, let's say if I am doing 18:6....so does it mean that I should have a gap of 18 hrs before I eat for 6hrs? Then when should I eat next day if I m not fasting?

I‘m doing 18-20h fasts every day. I work out during lunch break (at home, body weight exercise with resistance bands or dumbells sometimes), I break my fast around 2 to 4 pm with a pea protein shake and then have dinner after work. Nothing after 8 pm. I try not to go for high carb meals often, but if I feel like having a bowl of spaghetti I will. Also have the occasional beer, because I want this to be sustainable for the rest of my life and I like to indulge from time to time 😄 So far I lost 50 pounds, I‘m now at 158 pounds. I have learned a lot from your videos, but I guess the message of this comment is that it all works even when you‘re not as strict during your eating windows. For me it‘s way easier to be strict with my fasting and then enjoy the foods/drinks I want to enjoy 😊
I'm very new at this! I don't understand how to do alternate fasting? I guess I prefer the consistency of fasting every day the way you do. I've been doing 16-18hr fasting every day for the past 15 days and lost 4 lbs.
@@angieroa591 he does videos about how to alternate intermittent fasting. Just out that in on RU-vid with his last name and gives great ideas on how to. I want to do this challenge but I guess for week 1 I am confused snd thinking is it every other day?
Is fasting every day ok? I was on Keto over a year now I lost 58 lbs but I'm creeping up cause I still fast but I eat a little more than I should after 8pm. I don't get hungry til 5 or 6 o'clock. So small eating window. I need to drop another 20 plus the 5 I've gained back so ima try this.
Lost 9 pounds last month following this!!! Thank you so much Thomas for putting this together! Feel so great but also so relieved!! Was having tons of trouble trying to lose weight and fast approaching 200 pounds and I’m just so grateful to find something I enjoy and is SUSTAINABLE! Gonna try longer fasts this month. Thank you thank you thank you!
I’ve started IF on last Monday and on Friday kicked it up a notch with 72 hr water fast this weekend ending this evening! Down 5lbs and in Full Ketosis for the first time in 2 yrs! Yay!
Same here took 2 month of Intermittent Fasting with same Calories intake each day/weeks as before IF and I lost 35 pounds (185 to 150) so with just changing the hours I eat but not what I eat I was able to do it, so im pretty sure most of you can do it if you really try. For one thing I can thanks COVID-19 for helping me deciding it was time to give IF a try
Good morning! I wAs wondering if you could possibly do this to be keto friendly? As well. I live that you are doing this! Love all your advise and input!
Im a week late to the game but I'm jumping on the train with y'all! Hope everyone is doing awesome! I always feel so much better when IF. My biggest issue is at some point I get mentally lazy & I stop. So this time we're on n crackin! This came at the perfect time, thank you Thomas!
I have about 50 lbs left to loose and I just found you! You are such a great inspiration. Thanknyou. I been doing IF on and off and just started keto sep 3. 17lbs down .
Awesome because literally Just yesterday before you posted this I asked my lady to do her first fast withbme started yesterday at 5 pm. Sent her this today as soon as I got the notification.
Oh this is a great plan! Thank you so much for this. I will focus on week one. I know I can do that. It sure helps to be doing it with others. Who is with me?
The best types for women include daily 14-16 hour fasts, the 5:2 diet or modified alternate-day fasting. While intermittent fasting has been shown to be beneficial for heart health, diabetes and weight loss, some evidence indicates it may have negative effects on reproduction and blood sugar levels in some women👍
How to lose weight on the 5:2 fasting diet. For five days a week, eat what is considered a normal amount of daily calories, and fast for two non-consecutive days: On fasting days, skip two meals, and have one normal meal. You can switch your fasting days around if you need to be flexible.Sep 15, 2017
WOW! TY so much for this Thomas! My wife is asking questions about fasting and the life change that I have started. I love how you present the knowledge without over complicating the subjects. She has Multiple Sclerosis and is going to discuss if this will be specifically beneficial to her.
This is really helpful! I’m excited to try this. One thing I do differently is eat my progesterone filled veggies, like red potatoes right before my period. Otherwise I feel sluggish and cranky. It helps me to follow what phase of my period I am in, and eat different foods based on that.
Your IF program has made it easy as a mom. Its flexabe so I can fast and not miss the birthday cake with the kids. No mom guilt!!! Keep up the good work
I only lost 2.5 kilo after one month of Keto. And this wasn't normal for me coz the first time I did Keto I lost 4 kilos. Was trying fasting but nothing was working. May be because now a days I am working from home and there's no activities throughout the day. Will follow this and check my progress now!! Thanks for the video! It came out at the right time!! 😁😁😁😁
Oh, about 3 weeks into keto your burning off stored water, keep drinking water to replace it. Around the 4th week your hit a platue, for 2-3 weeks, this is where your body is actually becoming seriously adapted to burning fat. It just takes patience, but it is working. After that it will be fat adapted, but be sure to stay under the 20-50carbs, also congrats on your hard work!!
@@7esseanime thanks!! I know it's working, but currently it's a little hard to stay motivated (Covid and WFH since March). So I keep telling myself that slow progress is still progress. At least I am doing something for my better health!! Hope I will break the plateau with this routine!! And I usually track all my macros coz I cook too many keto snacks and desserts. 😇😇😊😊
@@parnasen6813 Haha, you replied! So fast. I'm literally just scrolling down this comment section. I get yeah, I've been really bored of keto meal preping, an just wanted a schedule, and then this video popped up! I burned my califlower(bleh) yesterday, an was weirdly depressed about my fail. ^^! haha. Also yum desserts, I'm only 2 weeks in, haven't had a dessert in so long, I miss chocolate.
@@7esseanime 😂😂😂😂 yeah well I was browsing through some more desserts. I usually sneak a dessert in the lunch. I dont feel hungry between the meals if I have a dessert. That's my trick! 😁
Thank you for all the information you share regarding the research you have done. This Women's Intermittent Fasting Challenge is very timely. This week I had started to intermittent fast, with the goal of 12 hours (8pm - 10 am) Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays - going along with other nutritional adjustments in line with having MS and now hypothyroidism, and being over 60. Have been following you for a while, still taking my GreenDetox every day, with added Moringa Powder and getting back to low carb. This will be interesting, even on a limited budget. May there be many who benefit from this.
Perfect time Thanks to het me in track again, did Keto in 2016 till 2019 from 64 kg-56kg so happy, then did alot of travel and during 2020 corona quaratine 14 days and so on gain all it back 😭😭😭😭now Sept 2020 will start again 🙏🏻help me God
Good Morning!!! Super excited to start fasting with you! Hoping that your brilliant mind is coving a Keto alternative today! I can't to start and finish this journey, your channel has done amazing things for me. Keep up the excellent work, I sure do appreciate it
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is so little information for women's bodies, especially in performance and fasting. Keep them coming.
Yay!!! So excited for this challenge. Unfortunately, I’m getting surgery in my abdominal muscles in a couple of weeks and the doctors warned to not workout for the next 6 months. It’s already heartbreaking & depressing for me not being able to get my fitness goals achieved. Can you please suggest some light exercises I can do to help stay lean while on this challenge. Been on keto for 11 months now.
I've never caught a challenge just as it comes out! I'm actually on keto, with IF, and just really wanted a schedule to follow(bored). I'll keep it keto, but this seems fun to be part of something. Especially when you said chocolate milk!
@@nicolalouise3314 Yup it's called "L'oven Fresh, Zero Net Carb Bread" Comes in Wheat, an Multiseed! It's in a clear bag, with Red, or Orange logo depending on type. And it tasted great to me, especially loved that it has roasted sunflower seeds baked right in!
Thank you Thomas!!! This is exactly what I needed for our group.Thank you for following up on messages. Is there a big fb group all my people can be in also?
This is great! I will start this in October so I can meal prep for it. (Also recovering from an injury and can't prep much now). Please *please* PUHLEASE do a version on an extreme budget. I can't always afford all the seaweed snacks. The tons of nutritional yeast, the fancy pea protien powder, SO much salmon... ect.... It would probably be called like "quick and dirty 30 day challenge". So many people would commit to that.
Just skip anything you don't wanna purchase, I'm on keto, so I'm skipping potatoes, an will just make anything I can afford, or make something close. Haha, something is better than nothing. Hope your injury heals soon!
I'm now carnivore. Anything I've tried to add back seems to bring back my sensitivities. Even pork does(which sucks). I'm trying to figure out what to do already. I definitely am not eating cookies or adding sugar suppliments when I just hate sugar now.
Of course you don’t need the carbs. I would argue if you are keto you don’t have to worry about the diet part in fact cause you don’t have to mitigate the insulin. This is for peeps who are on a regular diet now
This is great! What helps me with this is seeing how you'd schedule in those fasts in a week, along with what meals could look like. I'm gonna write this into an easy to see planning and then see if I wanna hop in on weeks 2 to 4 and whether it needs adaptation to prevent taking in too many histamine-rich foods (like the avocado and the cocoa powder).
Bro, I am with you on this. I was already starting some fasting about 14 to 16 hours the last few days. So this is perfect to jump on this challenge now :) \m/ Thank you for doing these vids. I feel like I'm not alone during these self control trials.
Week two and starting to get the hang of it....no fish/seafood, nuts including coconut, squash/zucchini or avacado. Weight started coming off. Thank you.
Hi Thomas first of all I want to thank you for allll these so interesting videos. Almost two years ago when I was discovering fasting I met you on your RU-vid channel. I learned soooo much with you and through you I discovered a new world!!! So thank you for all of that. Secondly thrive not in France 🇫🇷 yet but hopefully I can almost find everything (except bone broth 🙁) thirdly I wish to follow your plan but working 40h/week don’t have time to follow all your instructions but I will adapt to my life rythm. Thanks 🙏 take care. Rakia
So happy I watched this video before the challenge started...cannot wait! 😁In case I cannot make the live coaching session, can you use cacao powder instead of cocoa powder for the hot chocolate and is cauliflower mash/rice ok to have instead of the red potatoes?
Kudos to anyone who can follow this. I think I'll just start with intermittent fasting (dinner before 7pm and breakfast no earlier than 7am next day), and a 18-24hr fast every few months. I don't have the coordination to do it all. Small steps first I guess.
Me currently (Veggie Keto IMF) - 7am wake, yoga, tea, work in garden (large with veggies), woodwork,10am shower and breakfast (usually leftover veggies and either fish or cheese, sometimes eggs), housework, teaching, sometimes a fig, grapes from garden, tea. 5pm Meal with green leaves, cheese,or fish or quinoa, or beans, with veggies, large salad with wide variety of plant foods. Isotonic water50%juice 50%water, pinch of salt as isotonic as necessary. I get bloated with ANY sugar, grains like I was 6 months pregnant!
Thank you, frankly I have a very hard time fasting. I will follow this. Please if you could make a video specific to inflammatory autoimmune disease on keto. Thanks
I am in week three of this challenge and I purchased bee pollen. I was stung by a bee this summer, so I had no idea I would react the way I did. I had one small teaspoon after my bone broth and I had a severe allergic reaction with dizziness, flushed skin and numbness of my hands and face. I understand Thomas is not a doctor and cannot be held responsible by any means, I just wanted to warn any one who might be trying it out....try a tiny bit FIRST if you have never tried it before. I only had 1 tsp but that was enough for me to react for almost 6 hours. Be careful!!
I know I’m doing this late/after the fact; but I’m excited!!! Any tips for a vegetarian? I’m thinking I’ll bend and eat Pescatarian for this challenge. Could you replace some of the protein with eggs or egg whites?
Hey Thomas! I’m super excited to get started with this program. In the future, can you have a direct shot of the whole white board so that we can screenshot the program to reference back to? Or even a still shot at the end of the video would be super helpful. Thanks
