30 min Hatha Yoga Practice | Slow and Traditional Yoga Sequence

This is a 30 minute hatha yoga practice which means we will move through a traditional yoga sequence based on standing and seated poses in a slow mindful way with a big focus on breathing.
Hatha Yoga means simple, easy to follow sequence of poses that have been around for thousands of years. There will be no complicated transitions or too many vinyasa flows. Therefore this sequence is good for all levels, but especially for beginners. The speed of this practice will be perfect for getting the alignment and breathing right.
We will begin this practice with a few rounds of Sun Salutations, followed by standing poses before we come down onto the mat for seated twists and stretches.
Remember that consistency will inevitably bring results. Therefore try to practice 4-5 times a week to see some progress.
Throughout this practice I will keep reminding you to find connection to your breathing. Try not to neglect it as it plays a huge role in your yoga practice. It allows you to be present and aware. It reveals tension and resistance. It allows to surrender and let go.
Get comfy, get ready and as you begin on this beautiful journey take it slow, listen to your own body and be patient.

Hello Marina, I hope this comment find you in peace! I’m a yoga instructor from Lebanon and it’s been 2 days for me not practicing, due to what is going on in our area! It’s so heartbreaking and heavy on our hearts especially after the massacre happened yesterday in Palestine, I was unable to express anything, I was shocked, just something I never felt before! This is gonna sound really weird but let’s throw it out there…I intented to watch this video in order to learn hatha yoga. I am 20 yo and have been doing random yoga poses every morning intuitively since i have never followed a class. I did the same sequence of my own constructed yoa sadhana for 4 years and year video made me want to sharpen my skills. However, I am kinda shocked to see that I have been doing the exact same poses as you demonstrated in this video. I have no explanation for it. I am still grateful for your video, it confirms my goal. Thankyou

I just started back after a 2 year break after hip replacement surgery. this was a perfect intro back. I practiced yoga for 20 yrs before my surgery and i deeply missed it. I've gained a bit of weight and have lost a lot of strength. I still have quite a bit of flexibility so this was challenging but not difficult. I love your soothing, kind, encouraging voice. i will continue to practice you videos and progress to the more challenging ones as I'm able. i feel very calm and relaxed and will continue my day in peace. this was just beautiful, I loved it Marina 🧘 I had time to concentrate, to breathe, to make myself comfortable in each pose which all together made me feel very satisfied and rooted at the and of this practice. I love it that you recently focus on the more slower sequences, that is exactly why I started yoga. to find inner calmness which is often not possible with other yogis offering their classes. Well done Maya for completing it !!! Sometimes slow practices and longer holds of some poses (especially standing poses) require quite some effort. And on some days we have less energy..so every time you will be repeating this practice it will feel different !!

Thank you so much❤ most quiet, peaceful music in the background and the comments you make to keep us aware of her body position, very important. There’s a Time-and place for rambunctious music that I don’t particularly care for in yoga. so I was very glad to find your channel and subscribed within the first few seconds. I could tell this was the style I love I started my yoga practice when I was eight years old with my father, Richard Hittleman. I believe he also had a TV show. But we started with the book. I fell away from that and got a lot into ballet and jazz and other forms of dance which I still love today but as the body ages I’m now 65 it is very good to have a practice like this that focuses on where you are in that particular day, and to bring peace and calm to the mind. When my father passed away, I found a Guam. Rodney Yee, Patricia Walden, and all the others. There I found the same kind of piece that you were giving beautiful instruction, beautiful, peaceful music, focus on the breath. And most importantly where your body is on that particular moment. Best way to prevent injury. I can’t remember exactly how I found my way back into yoga after my dad passed, but I remember exactly when I went into a child a Runga and I collapsed in tears, and all I could say was grateful, grateful, grateful it was like he led me back to the matt He is my guardian. ❤

Just completed day 2 of week 3.Loved the sequence,was a little out of balance when it was on one leg and twists with elbows on the thighs.So much loved your environment,where you were ,made it all the more calming.💜💜

I really enjoyed this practice, as with all your wonderful videos, your voice and encouragement keeps me going. I started to feel so much better, I have back issues on my left side, sometimes I am not able to walk but in my 3rd week of yoga with you I already feel much more free and the pain subside a bit. I can’t wait to do the back pain relief session but it is 8.30am almost here in Mauritius and it is too hot for me to continue now. Early mornings are the best. Thank you again and again Marina.
