Yes, on GPO security filtering you removed everything which was correct and then added specific group, partly right but this will have mapping issue. To correct this; IN GPO go into delegation tab and add Authenticated users with read permission only - that should solve the mapping problem - remember in client machine you must also update policies by typing gpupdate /force in cmd

In the New Drive properties under Action, why did you choose "Update" instead of "Create"? Shouldn't you create a new network mapped drive for the users first?

What happens if a user is a member of more than one group... say a CEO that also want's access to the HR drive? Will it try to map the "P:" (Public) drive twice?... will that create any issues?
