That load did good at distance . I've never had a chance to shoot my 300 much past 100 yds . Where I'm at now 100yds is a long shot with the hills and thick woods .
Impressive. I always considered my 300bo a 150 yard gun. I haven’t taken a shot past 150 in 10 years anyway because of the terrain I hunt. Hope to see some harvest footage in the future 👍
Thanks. The 300BO is really dependent on what bullet you shoot and velocity. My home range is limited to 100 yards and thats pretty much the limit on my cast bullets. Shooting some of these jacketed rounds will definitely extend the range. I would have to shoot a lot more at 300yds before I was comfortable taking a shot at game with it...but doable.
Thanks. My two 16” targets came from a local welding shop 7-8 years ago. All my others are from eBay. All AR500 and they’ve held up well. Thousands and thousands of rounds over the years.
@@243Outdoors I’ll keep an eye out for that one. I haven’t loaded any of them - I’ve only function tested the commercially loaded Sub-X ammo suppressed in my 8 1/2” pistol length AR. As far as Blackout at distance, I’ve run a 78 grain cast bullet subsonic suppressed out to 300 yards from a Ruger American Ranch with good results. The 78 grain subsonic is a riot that far out. I also shoot 147 and 150 FMJ supersonic from a 10” Contender - it does fine on the 200 yard IHMSA Rams.
You may be able to hit the target at 300 yards with that, but what about bullet performance? Isn't that load maxing out around 150 yards energy wise? Thanks for the vid and the insight on a development project I'm working on.
