Sorry to everyone that has asked questions and i have not replied. I don't check it much anymore its a old video and there where a lot of questions to keep up with. I have done more to the truck and hope to make a new video maybe a update soon.
i have a 84 ford ranger and my dad wants to put a 302 in it when I get a little older I wanna put glass packs on mine also. did you have to re do the motor mount so it will hold that big engine?
thats awesome. im very impressed with what you have done with it. me and my ranger are going to a car show today through the weekend. i want a 4x4 ranger soon with a 302. but all i have is my 1989 ranger.
Great looking truck. Just got a 94 myself. It's a extended cab 4x4 and already has the 4.0 V6. Not super powerful engine but pretty happy with the fuel economy. I think it rated at 160 HP with 225 ft lbs torque. Nice having a DIS since you don't have to worry about replacing cap n rotor as maintenance items.
im getting ready to do this to my 88 4x4 ranger any clearance issue i need to look for like front drive shaft or any other tip or trick that will make it easier to do plz let me know thank nice work on the truck to love it
Awesome work on the truck. I've got an 89 that I've been working on right now. Is that the stock dana 28 ttb in the front? If so, how well has it held up? Also, if you don't mind me asking, whats the cost on a Ford crate 302? My truck has the stock 2.3L but its tired. Might do a swap like that at some point. Thanks.
Great job, should have dropped a diesel in it, would have sounded cooler. Getting rid of the glass packs and straight piping it would make it sound even better. Wish I could drop a bigger motor in 2001 ranger.
well we know where all the money went, and it didn't go towards the camera or the off road lights. lol. did you do your own motor mounts or did you go with pre-made ones? the only pre made motor mounts i can find are the james duff ones.
also these stock 80s 302s are not very loud. lower compression and less cam/valve duration. i converted a 87 302 from efi to carb for my 74 f100. (have videos) that thing is STRAIGHT PIPED and is so quiet! it blows my mind. you cant kill them tho thats for sure.
Jeffrey Spragg it's a 4 core aluminum radiator to keep the v8 cool instead of the factory 4 cylinder. It's bigger and sits tucked under the front core support. You can't access one on top like normal.
I kept the truck for 10 years then sold it. The whole time I owned it I used to original 4speed and transfer case that was factory for the 2.3 in 1983.
Looks great! I like the orange paint. How much do you have into it? I'm guessing $15,000.00 Please reply to how much it has cost. I'm thinking about doing the same thing but $$$ From Chris in California 👍
KILLER! That's thee best era Ranger body style, ever, esp. the tailgate (is it from later year?). I like my '99 (Gen 4), but I don't think it's ever gonna be iconic like Gen 1 & Gen 2 Rangers. Great job, over and under... now get 'er DIRTY, lol. Like the orange color, what's it called and/or code #? (The part where paint didn't adhere up front, is that plastic?) R U on any of the Ranger forums?
long travel is for abuse this is a show truck I know this guy he doesn'.t abuse his trucks.Rangers are the best pre runners in my book. But opinion doesn't matter to others.Your 97 with a 302 must be quick too. I've got my own Ranger and Just love it.
Dang there is a lot of room under the hood for that engine. I'm wanting to do this on a 98+ Ranger with a 4 barrel Holley Carb and a dual fuel (propane/gasoline) kit.
Yes, that is the stock front it's doing ok but when i get the money i want to do a solid front axle . The motor was from advanced auto parts it was a long block and was under $2,000
Just look around.I found mine setting under a apple tree full of rust lol. It wasnt very far from my house a few small things to get it running and it was mine for $500 I have done alot of work to it even more since the video hope to upload a updated one.
+Antonyo Martinez No the body lift does not make for an easier install... I installed a 351 w into MY 84 2wd with no trouble at all... so dont give me that shit.... I like a stock sleeper look and I achieved it... if someone knows how to get videos on here I will prove it.
robert this is not your truck or your video so guess what? he can do what he wants to do to his truck. if robert on the other hand wants to keep his as a sleeper then by all means have at it cheif. leave this guy alone about his truck.
