Great video, I just graduated highschool and want to play college ball. My biggest issue is really finding my role on the team. I’m only 6’4 but I’ve been more or less forced to play big man my whole career so I often feel out of place on offense
@TuckerRichardson

Thanks for the comment! My advice would be to definitely develop guard skills because at the higher levels, being 6'4" normally means you are going to be a guard. Keep working and I hope it all works out for you!

I wish more kids could get that they can have an impact without playing. Some of the kids I coach seem to think of they aren't on the court, they're a failure. Some of my favorite players are ones that didn't play much.

Thanks for this awesome video man, it really helps me out for my dreams about collage basketball. But I have 1 question : Is it really matters where I am form? I mean I am from Serbia and in my mind is always that they don't want a guy out of state. Is that true? Is scholarship more expensive for me or for guy in state? Is that even matters?
@TuckerRichardson
@TuckerRichardson 11 месяцев назад
Lots of great questions. I don't have all the answers, but what I will say is that it is certainly possible to play college basketball in the US from outside of the country. In fact I would say the number of international players is steadily rising each year in college basketball. If you are good enough and they can watch your film, then it doesn't matter where you come from.

Hey man, quick question, i started basketball seriously at 15, do you think that its still possible to make the NBA? currently i train 2-3 times everyday and i basically live and breath basketball, i play division 2 ball in monaco, and i plan on going to america to train in offseason & I used to play other sports so i have a athletic backround, so if you think there is a chance, what do you think the most important things are? but also im just thinking all these people started very young, althought jimmy butler started at 16 i dont know haha, thats basically just the only thing that is kind of putting me down any tips?
@TuckerRichardson
@TuckerRichardson 11 месяцев назад
My response would be that if you live and breath basketball, that means you clearly love the game. And if you truly love the game, then you should continue to work as hard as you are at getting better, and not worry so much about what your outcome might be. We all know how hard it is to make the NBA, so instead of making the NBA your goal, I think your goal should be to become the best player you possibly can, and enjoy the process along the way. Remember, its about the process, not the results.
@stablecherry
@stablecherry 11 месяцев назад

Hey man, I'm a Junior in high school standing at about 6'6" and I've been trying to transition to playing a wing instead of a center. I already think I have enough skill to play this position but none of my coaches are giving me a chance. Are there any specific things you think I should work on or show my coaches? I'm just looking for advice on how to handle this situation.
@TuckerRichardson
@TuckerRichardson 10 месяцев назад
I would say, you don't have to necessarily play the wing position to do wing/guard stuff in games. For instance, if you get a rebound and then dribble up the court and start the offense, you are proving you can handle the ball and make good decisions. It is definitely a tricky situation being stuck as big, so you have to create opportunities for yourself that display your guard skills.

What is your stretching rutine
@TuckerRichardson
@TuckerRichardson 10 месяцев назад
It is fairly basic, usually takes about 15 minutes before every practice, as well as the lengthy stretching we do as a team during practice. I just use it to get my body feeling good before practice starts.
